Synopsis
Gran Turismo 5 is the fifth game in the Gran Turismo sim racing video game series. Developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, it was released for PlayStation 3 on November 24, 2010. It expands on the game's Prologue version and is the first entry of the series to be developed for PlayStation 3. As of 2013, it is currently one of the best-selling PS3 games and the best selling PS3 exclusive with over 10 million copies sold.
The game marks the first entry in the series with online races with support for up to 16 players. A damage model has been included with variations of damage depending on whether the vehicle falls into the "standard" or "premium" category. Over 1,000 cars, 26 different locations, and 71 different tracks are available in the game. Night racing also returns.
World Rally Championship, NASCAR and Super GT licenses are utilized for the first time in the Gran Turismo franchise

Gameplay
The gameplay to GT5 have been improved upon by its predecessor in several ways for example the cars will now display damage if they are crashed or scraped during a race, another improvement is the weather as there are now more varieties and the opportunity to race at night time. They have great number of excellent tracks to play on and a practically unlimited number of vehicles that are customizable to tailor to your every racing need. The racing is once again as close to the real experience as you will get the cars handle similar to how they handle in real life and with a number of different races to take part in you will find yourself immersed in the game thinking you are in the driver's seat.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer is a fantastic addition to this already great game. You are given the option to play either splitscreen or online. Similar to single player there is a large number of different races you can enter into for all classes of car. This takes the great feeling of the GT5 single player and makes it even better as you can race against your friends to see who really is the best driver!

Graphics
The graphics on this game are superb, the cars look gorgeous and the damage system is very accurate, the weather and driving conditions look fantastic for example the bright and bold blue sky looks very crisp and clean. The lighting and shadows on this game are truly fantastic and when I first saw them I remember remarking how lifelike they look. It's unreal how much detail they have put into the cars, everything is the same as it is in real life! The tracks look really good and the grainy effect on the road is nice. Even the crowds look superb on this which is usually where games like this often need improvement! There are several camera options to play with and each one looks super, whether third or first person.

CONTROLS
The controls can't be faulted at all. The cars feel smooth and responsive and there is a variety of tweaks you can make in the menus to change how you drive, (automatic, semi, manual) with varying difficulty levels. The controls are really good when you play on manual as well as they really utilise the buttons on the controller for the clutch and gear shift as these two are used in quick succession it is good that they are close together so you will find it easy to do. No problems here.
