Graphics
The graphics in Paper Mario The Thousand Year-old Door were marvelous for what kind of game it was. For being much like an RPG game, the game ran real smooth and had great clarity back during its time. Apart from having minuscule size eyes and paper-like appearance, the amounts of creativity put into the graphics are over the top. A good thing was that nothing looked or stood out of place by which something that didn't have that paper-look or texture to it. Everything looked like as if the whole world was made from paper and had been colored very superbly to create that realism that players would see if they were in that particular game's world. A cool feature was that when entering a building, the outside will fold flat while the insides of the buildings the player entered opened up and set up in each direction. The many different characters and enemies featured in Paper Mario really feature their own looks and designs although some are just basically the same creature but fit perfectly because of where their located that fits the level. The game's background varies when traveling to different locations in the game as well as having their own unique theme to them which adds some variety to it. Stuff like trees and bushes do seem to repeat but not as much if your walking down a path and seeing the same size trees and bushes appearing over and over again. Overall, for an RPG game, this game has great potential and should be great for players to view the game.

Controls
For a unique gaming style just as this game, the controls aren't as had as one would think if they never played an RPG game before. The action commands are really simple to what other Mario games were like, as well as some other adventure games. When battling against an opponent, the command for the attack appears as soon as you approach the enemy so it won't be difficult to know what button to use. Players can also equip a certain badge that will notify them to press the attack command to perform extra damage multiple times by timing it right, this also goes for blocking as well. The movements are the same controls for most games so not much of a difference there. Overall, the game features similar controls for each command pretty much as another game of the same genre would have the controls set-up so players should give this game a try even if they never played an RPG game before since the story mode and gameplay is very interesting and addicting.
