Info
Title: Ship Simulator Extremes
Genre: Simulation
Developer: VStep
Publisher: Paradox Interactive
Release Date: 27 Aug 2010

Synopsis
VSTEP and Paradox are proud to announce the next installment of the acclaimed Ship Simulator series. With over 550K copies sold, the series returns to take you into the most extreme conditions on earth. Ever wonder how it feels to sail a half-million-ton supertanker through the perfect storm? To take on illegal whale hunters in the Antarctic?

Gameplay
The gameplay is very nice, it has the fun factor of being in controls of some of the worlds biggest sea going vessels in some of the worst weather conditions known to man. along with the calm sea going hot summers day in a patrol boat. The option for boats is beyond brilliant. I have had this game for about a month now, and I still haven't even used half the boats available in this game. So that aspect of it is very pleasing. But to some, this game can be very boring but it's a simulator, they're not designed to be fun all of the time. They;'re made for close to life situations and playability. Anybody can play this game due to everything being a calm and therefore pleasant experience. The range of vehicles is massive, from Rowing boats to the biggest of containers ships, and everything down to the RHIB and tugboats of today. This game really does have an impressive artillery of boats...

Graphics
the graphics are great, you have to set it up right from the beginning otherwise it might become unplayable if your system is a little outdated. The detail settings offer many different quality types everything down to the amount of waves that hit your boat and with what force. The water and Sky are the main two things you have to tone down on an older system in this game as if you turn them up, it does get rather demanding. I had to play this game on a mix between medium and high graphics but even then i wasn't achieving high FPS. other than that small thing, it is a very pleasant game to play.

Controls
The controls are hard to figure out really, it took me a while anyway. I hadn't looked through the tutorial as they are usually very long winded on simulators and i simply didn't have the time. BUt when i found out why the tutorial was so lengthy i could see why. I was just mashing every button on my keyboard and changed so many things is had to restart the mission. So i recommend playing the tutorial first.
