Synopsis
Star Wars: Republic Commando is a tactical first-person shooter video game, set in the Star Wars universe, released in the U.S. on March 1, 2005. It was developed and published by LucasArts for the Microsoft Windows and Xbox platforms. The game uses Epic Games' Unreal Engine.[1] As of April 19, 2007, this game is forward compatible for the Xbox 360 with a downloadable patch.[2]

Gameplay
The gameplay in Star Wars: Republic Commando features similar gameplay to the Halo and Call of Duty series gameplay. The player is a solider in the Star Wars time who has a helmet and armor killing the sith or bad guys. The game has two game modes multiplayer and single player, both game modes are really exciting to play and fun. In multiplayer it goes up to 4 players playing on one screen and on xbox live it goes up to 16 players. In multiplayer you can do free for all, team deathmatch, and capture the flag, so there is not much to choose from but matches last quite awhile. Each map has weapons to pick up leaving you with good or terrible weapons if your low on ammo. In single player it is one player so you are going to have to share if you want to play with a brother, sister, or anyone else. The whole single player story line is long, cliff hanging, and fun to play. You will go through various amounts of missions and none are very repetitive at all. The player can kill things but when you are up close you may get a little blood splatter on your visor causing blurry vision and cant see as well. Players can also go up to doors and open them and close them with just a touch of a button. Players can also call commands to the field like "Go go go! Get down! etc." If the player is shot he will go down and a team mate must come and get him so he wont die. I really like how fun everything was when i played this, it was addicting and never repetitive.

Plot
At the beginning of the game the players squad, Delta squad has been assigned to assassinate the Geonosian leader Sun Fac. After completing the objective, the squad sabotages there headquarters and destroying there ship. One year later the squad is sent t investigate the Republic Assault Ship, which was there former home after the last mission. The squad begins to split up and they start losing connection with each other because of scavengers. You begin to fight through the ship and meet up with your squad again. The squad begins to get more dangerous missions. You start fighting through these missions and you meet up with General Grievous, you begin to fight him and kill him after a big battle. You guys then split up once again and start to fight through forces and weaponry. I will not spoil the very end because the games last mission is the funnest but really sad too because of one part. The single player of this game was the best part of the game and needed no improvements what so ever.

Graphics
The graphics for this 2005 first person shooter game was possibly the best graphics out at the time. The animations when reloading, shooting, and seeing other people fight was absolutely amazing. The thing I reasonably did not like was that they didn't have an animation for you when you died, your body would either just go flying or just lay down with no shape at all. Another really cool thing was when you got a little splatter of blood on your visor, it looked really cool at the time and was really good looking. The whole game runs really smooth with sharp edges, no lag, smooth curves. I really enjoyed every bit of graphics on this game, I did not like the animation for dying though. I thought they could take some time and make that.

Controls
The controls of this game were similar to the halo and Call of duty series as said before. All the controls were simple to learn and just easy overall. RT to shoot, LT to aim, and left joystick to move around, were the main controls of this game. Other controls were just like open a door, pick up a weapon, reload your weapon with just a single tap or hold of a button. I really like how easy every thing was and how much fun it was with these controls. All of the controls of this game were simple for a shooter type of game. I say it needs no improvements what so ever and it is great.
