Test other cords out, bring it into Apple,
Do you still have apple-care with it?

Try this:

Close iTunes.
Disconnect your device
Search "services"
Click "system" in search
click "View Local Services"
right-click "Apple Mobile Device"
click "Stop"
wait for it to stop
Click "Start"
Reopen iTunes
Connect your device.

Done.
