so now that mata's transfer to united has been confirmed subject to a medical do you think this could be a possible turning point in their season or do think his transfer won't affect their performances that much ?

I don't think one player will change their season, especially in their first season in a club. I've always said it takes 1 year for a player to gel into the team and although Mata is a superb player and will do well for them, I don't think the impact that he will make, will be instant. I still think their team is pretty weak to contend for the title

personally i agree with you but i know a couple of people who think him signing and R.V.P and rooney returning soon they think it could jump start their season so wanted some peoples opinion to see what the general view is plus personally i can't even see them getting top 4 this year

Remember that the chosen one likes to play negative football. Mata is a player that likes 'Positive Football'. Not playing a boring, predictable 442 and hoofing the ball up.
David Moyes is a football genius.

RVP and Rooney wont fix nothing.
United fans use this as a excuse but lets look at there results start off the year.
Man Utd 1-2 WBA (RVP played)
Man Utd 0-1 Everton (Rooney played)
Man Utd 0-1 Newcastle (RVP played 90 Mins)

There fans need to admit that they only won the league last year is due to SAF and RVP as a quick fix.
