Game Information
Release Date: February 27, 2007
Developers: Deadline Games
Publishers: Eidos Interactive
Platforms: PSP
Genre: Third-Person Shooter, Action
Players: 1, Multiplayer 2-4

Synopsis
Turns out that Rams's father, a Policia Federal Agent got a little too close to the biggest drug cartel in Mexico, and they decided ti snuff him out before he could expose the sinister organization. Now Ram is on a mission to avenge his father's death and bring down the culprits.

Plot
The story starts out when the father of Ramiro Cruz was murdered by the savage people of Los Toros, Mexico. Ramiro Cruz then starts out on a quest to avenge his father and eliminate anybody that stands in his way until he finds the culprit behind his father's assassination. The player then takes control of Ramiro and has to shoot their way from desolated deserts, to ranches and farms, rooftops, cargo-ships and other various locations. Ramiro will have to fight off various enemies like banditos, mercenaries, crazed masculine women, men in chicken costumes, and even zombies. The game consists of the player running off walls, jump diving, and other various moves to kill their enemies to score points throughout the mission.

Gameplay
Chili Con Carnage has the player setup to fight off numerous kinds of enemies in unique fashions which the player earns points for. By getting kills in quick succession, the player earns a chain bonus for each kill that the player gets before the meter depletes. The player starts out with a pistol to begin with when starting a mission and can pick up other weapons and special abilities that are dropped by enemies and hidden around the map. The player can even kill animals to keep the chain going but adds little boost to the chain meter. The player will soon get to parts of a mission where they would have to defeat a boss before advancing to the next act. The bosses also have their own unique abilities that does make it more challenging for the player to progress. If the player likes killing enemies in various ways or just loves the action, then this game is a must try.

Graphics
The graphics in Chili Con Carnage are probably the best for its genre. Although the graphics are a bit cartoonish, the player can see the little bits of realistic textures implemented into the game. The graphics on the weapons are excellent enough that the players can easily recognize. But the bad part for this part is that there is no blood whatsoever. When the player shoots an enemy, they just fall and when the play is shot at, it looks like sparks are coming out of the player from where the bullet had hit them. The textures on the walls, roads, and structures aren't what you would call amazing. Upon inspecting the various parts of the map, the player will notice a repetition on the details; such as the same cracks on buildings being on the same exact side, the clouds are the same shape, the plants and cactuses are identical and have no different shape or form.

Controls
The controls do have their difficulty upon starting it for the first time. With the lack of a second analog-stick, the view of the camera when the player jumps backwards or off a wall could quite easily confuse the player. Because of this, the player will be shooting as well as moving int the same direction. In this game, the player doesn't have to worry about reloading their weapons or moving the analog-stick to aim at a target since the game automatically does it for the player. Apart from the minor camera issues, the game is still fun to play and addictive.

Rating
Gameplay: 8/10

One of my absolute favorite games I played on PSP, it's funny and the action is cool, it's not meant to be play through in one seating, otherwise i would think it's short and the special effects might get old soon, it was a great gaming for picking up on my commute to work.
