Super Mario 3D World
Release Date: Nov 22 2013
Developer:Nintendo EAD Tokoyo
Publisher: Ninetendo
Platforms: Wii U
Genre: Adventure

Synopsis
Super Mario 3D World (3D Sp Mario Sur D Wrudo?) is a platform game in the Super Mario series developed by Nintendo EAD Tokyo and published by Nintendo for the Wii U video game console. Released in November 2013, it is the sequel to the 2011 Nintendo 3DS title, Super Mario 3D Land. The game was acclaimed by critics, who cited level design and multi-player as outstanding aspects of the game.

Plot
It all starts when Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad were roaming Mushroom Kingdom and all of the sudden a sprixie comes out and tells them something. Suddenly, Bowser appears and takes the sprixie and escapes. Mario and his crew follow him and get into the sprixie world. You must capture all sprixies and save them all. After rescuing the final sprixie Mario and his crew get ambush by a defeated bowser, who recaptures all of the sprixies again, and he moves to his next final castle. You must beat his final world and defeat bowser again. Once you defeat him you safley get the sprixies out of there. As a punishment to bowser for capturing them you put bowser into a Jar and keep him in there for a while.

Gameplay
This game features some of the same things in Super Mario 3D Land. There are four playable characters; Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad. However the player can unlock a fifth playable character, Rosalina. Each character features there own upgrades or abilities. Mario is Average with everything, Luigi Jumps higher and falls slower, Peach can jump and float in the air for a short period of time but runs really slow, Toad can jump not as high but falls faster and sprints faster, and Rosalina can use a spin move attack. All these characters can be switched before the map starts. This game has the usual power ups, but there is also more power ups introduced. The Bell will give you a cat power which will allow you to climb walls to get to pipes and reach new areas. The doubles cherries will allow you to duplicate your character so there is 2 of you to run around. The player can also put on goomba masks, Light blocks, and cannon boxes. Overall this gameplay is really fun to play and would recommend trying it out.

Controls
The controls at first are pretty confusing but easy to learn. On the WiiU pad you can use the touchscreen to find hidden blocks and touch enemies to paralyze them making it easier to kill them, with the mic you can blow into it and blow enemies away and activate mechanisms. With the joy stick to move, A and B to jump, and X and Y to hit people is really simple. Just a touch of a button and your doing something its that easy. Everything is placed in the right spot and doesn't really need and improvements at all. No improvements or enhancements need to this really at all there fantastic.

Graphics
The graphics are amazingly good! On your WiiU Pad it is HD, really detailed, and aren't that bright in some spots. If you dont have a HD TV all you have to do is look at your pad and it makes a huge difference. On your TV its great until you play a Boo level or a dark level. If your on a dark level it is too dark and you have to look at your WiiPad. Besides that everything is great and doesnt need much improvements and needs to be brighter in some areas. Great Graphics.

Rating
Synopsis 8/10
Plot 8/10
Gameplay 9/10
Controls 10/10
Graphics 9/10
Overall 8/10

I personally don't own a 3DS and probably will never buy one. I played Super Mario 3D World at my friends house I liked it. I thought it wasn't the greatest Mario game but it was good.

7/10.

This game is by far my favorite Wii-U game so far (and possibly my favorite Mario game). The graphics, despite being a cartoon, are fantastic along with the soundtrack. The soundtrack is one of the best parts of this game and really adds to the atmosphere of the game. One thing that I noticed they left out was a story. It had almost no story to it; the only parts being Bowser has done something bad and you have to stop him. I don't think that this really pulled the game down, I still loved it, but it couldn't have hurt to add a more complex one.
A must for any Wii-u owner. It does get a bit difficult towards the end.
