It's not really a dungeon, just an old basement.
A lot of houses have these and there are quite new looking wires down there too.
It should really be blocked off, but at least he can clean it out and convert it into something or use it for storage space.
Cool find though.

It was in a monastery, it could just be a basement but its better to imagine some death dungeon.... 8)
