I have been trying to research whether or not this is possible and I have seen many different ways to do so. I have an HDMI output on my laptop and I would like to know how I could play the Xbox One on my laptop. I would like a reliable source that actually works. Or if this is not possible I would like to know before I bought the Xbox. Thank you for your help.

You should be able to plug in your hdmi cable into the hdmi out on the laptop and plug the hdmi cable into the hdmi "in" into the X1 has and it should work.
