Installing Plugins

With CFW installed you have the option to install a wide variety of plugins which add extra functionality to the PSP. I have provided a link to a comprehensive list of plugins which are available for you to download. Note that not all plugins are compatible with your custom firmware and you should check before using them in order to avoid errors
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Setting up your SEPLUGINS folder

1. Connect your PSP system to your PC using a USB Cable
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

2. Select USB Connection from the settings menu
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

3. Create a folder in the root of your memory stick and name it SEPLUGINS

4. In the SEAPLUGINS folder create 3 notepad files and name them VSH, GAME and POPS

VSH = The Plugin will be loaded in XMB (Home Menu of the PSP)
GAME = The Plugin will be loaded in GAME.
POPS = The Plugin will be loaded in Playstation One games.

Installing Plugins

1. Choose the plugin you want to install and download it

2. Copy the Plugin into your SEPLUGINS folder

3.
If your plugin is an XMB Plugin open VSH.txt
If your plugin is a Game Plugin open GAME.txt
If your plugin is a PlayStation One Plugin open POPS.txt
If your plugin runs in 2 or more of these then open the folders in accordance. So if your plugin runs in both the XMB and while playing a game open the VSH.txt and GAME.txt folders

4. Add a line of text to the text file(s) that you have open replacing PLUGINNAME with the name of the plugin you are installing
ms0:/seplugins/PLUGINNAME.prx 1

5. Press Select on your PSP and the recovery menu should appear, select refresh VSH in order for the plugin to take effect

Playing .ISO and .CSO Games off the PSP Memory Card

Custom Firmware on the PSP enables you to play a large library of PSP games that have been uploaded to the internet. The most common way to download these games is torrenting as it requires much less trouble than the other methods available. Simply search the name of the game you are looking for on one of the well known torrent sites and you should be able to find a few downloads for it. An alternative method for downloading these games is emulator sites that offer direct download

The first step we need to take in this process is understanding the difference between an ISO and CSO file. An ISO file is a direct image of a PSP games UMD meaning that it's pretty much the original game taken from the disc. A CSO on the other hand can be thought of as a compressed version of an ISO, it has been made smaller in order to fit on the memory stick more easily and save space. Both file formats are fundamentally the same game, the only difference that you will notice between the two are the file size and a slight change in performance, the ISO running slightly better than the CSO

Moving the files onto the PSP

1. Connect your PSP system to your PC using a USB Cable
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

2. Select USB Connection from the settings menu
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

3. Create a folder in the root of your memory card called ISO

4. Move your .ISO or .CSO file into the folder ISO

5. Go to Game and then Memory Stick on your PSP and you should see the game you have just moved

8. Place your theme in the Themes folder of your memory stick located in the PSP folder in the root of your memory card
