Synopsis:
Carmageddon is a graphically violent vehicular combat 1997 PC video game. It was later ported to other platforms, and spawned a series of follow-up titles. It was inspired by the 1975 cult classic movie Death Race 2000. The game was produced by Stainless Games, published by Interplay and SCi.

Gameplay:
Carmageddon begins with the announcer announcing Attention all competitors: This is your one minute warning. I repeat, one minute until race commencement. Members of the public: You now have one minute to reach minimum safe distance! After the race begins the player is given a time limit in which he has to achieve three goals to win the race. Finish all laps before other competitors, Run over and kill all civilians on the level, or Waste all of the other competitors vehicles(destory). But the player can extend his time limit by smashing into other players, running over pedstrians, or hitting explosive barrels. If the players car is badly damaged they can also hit explosive barrels which give a slight chance of reparing his/her vehicle. At the beginning of the game the player is given two choices of drivers he can pick. which is Die Anna and Max Damage. Die anna drives the Yellow eagle while Max damage drives the Red version. The player may unlock 30 totals drivers by playing the game. The games objective is for the player to work from 99th in the standings to 1st while competing against many other drivers in many different settings. The player also earns credits during a race which they can use to repair or upgrade their current vehicle, you get about 100 credits for killing a civilian an more if you do it with style. To make it harder for the player there is also heavily armored cop cars that will try to stop the racer, they can be stopped but do not help the players in any way. There is also a action replay that allows you to re-watch a race. its kinda like the madden replay and call of duty kill cam had a child. This game also has a LAN Multiplayer that can hold up to 6 online competitors.[/color]


Controls:

There are many controls for this game but for now ill give you the basic controls you need to know to actually drive, i will add more later on if requested. But basically in this game you use the keypad to control the car most computers will have arrows on #'s 8,6,4 but you will use those for driving, and other than that you will use the keyboard to control everything else. i never really liked the controls but hey i didn't make the game. But if your use to these controls than thats good for you, if not not it wont take to long to getting use to.
Accelerate: Press #8 on Keypad.
Turn Right: Press #6 on Keypad.
Turn Left: Press #4 on Keypad.
Handbrake: Press Spacebar.
Repair: Press Backspace.
Fully Repair: Double press backspace.
Recover: Press the Insert key.
Action replay: Press Enter.
To spin the wheels: Press the Z key.
to look left: Press the q Key.
to look right: Press the w Key.
Cockpit veiw: Press C key.
The game has decent controls, but it took me a while to get use the controls i had to use to drive, but after a while i got use to it. its basically using the arrow keys but instead their on the keypad.


Graphics:
This game was made in 1997 so the graphics are pretty decent for its time but not the best. this game did not have as good as graphics as other racing games, but this wasn't just any racing game. It was a racing game that gave the player 3 different ways to choose how to win, it was its on genre of racing in my opinion. but to sum it up imagine doom 2 but with cars. But other than that this game made up for graphics with gameplay.


Interesting Facts:

Depending on where you lived when you owned the game would determine what story you had and what content was in it. For example, In England it was censored before release so the game contained Zombies with green blood and a actual story line. In Germany it was robots with black oil for blood. they game us released uncut in only a select few countries and completely banned in others. The makers of the game actually released patches for everyone that would bring back pedestrians and real blood for those who had censored versions. Sadly though the ENTIRE series only sold 2 million copies. as we know that's not great especially since it was the entire series.
