Plot
The story starts with a cut-scene of an American sniper sent into Berlin in the last few days of World War 2. His mission is to move about the city using stealth to rescue and get German scientists to escape with him to find out information about German plans. The first mission helps the player get used to the game and orders him to assassinate a German officer and several of his troops and escape the safety. During the next mission the player has to kill many German patrols and finally kill a German scientist by blowing up his car, killing him instantly. Afterwards the player is sent into a facility but is discovered by German troops so must escape but during his escape he manages to save an important scientist and some top secret documents. As the player escapes with the scientist he encounters Soviet troops which he has to hold back, however , the scientist is shot during the fire fight and whispers a word as he dies. After that he is assigned to assassinate another important scientist and then infiltrate a Soviet lab. During his time in the lab, he learns that they plan to bomb London with bombs of poisonous gas which is what he was warned about by the scientist who he failed to save earlier. The player than finds an important document belonging to the final enemy, and snipes him during his escape causing his car to explode and preventing the rockets from being launched at London.

Gameplay
Sniper Elite V2 is essentially very similar to its prequel. It involves the player to use stealth to manoeuvre his way around the city and assassinate different important figures. However, there are some differences between the games such as new features being added including a variety of traps, marking of enemies, slow motion bullets followed by the camera, new weapons and wind speed. New additions such as wind speed, gravity, velocity, bullet penetration, aim stability make the game much harder but definitely more enjoyable than the previous game which did not take any of these factors into account. The story consists of 11 missions all of decent lengths but the overall campaign does not take very long to complete. It is worth noting that most of the game is set in a third person view when moving around, setting traps, and using any weapon except a sniper rifle, however when the player zooms in with a sniper rifle he is immediately taken into first person view. The multi-player is very similar to most other shooters with basic game modes, strangely, it does not consist of much stealth unlike the campaign.

Graphics
The graphics on Sniper Elite V2 are very good compared to most games released last year. There are very few glitches and enemies look very realistic. The new addition of X-ray killcams is a very innovative idea and looks very nice when the camera follows the bullet into slow motion as it penetrates the enemy and shows what damage is done as it enters and leaves his body. Overall the graphics are very good and improve gameplay.

Controls
The controls are not the easiest controls to master, they will take even a dedicated gamer a while to pick up as they are very different from most other shooters. Once the controls are learned it is easy to play through without any issues. Controls when using a sniper are much easier than using other weapons as it is in first person view. It is quite difficult to switch between types of actions, traps, weapons and items and would definitely not suit an in-experienced gamer.

Ratings (Personal)

Great review! mine is 8/10, I think the controls and the menu can be much better, other than that it was a brilliant game.

Yeah I say the game was about a 7. I liked it though one how you had to think outside the box in some situations. Like shooting a grenade on a soldiers belt.

Well, Just read the review and ended up buying the game for $20 on ebay.
Hopefully it will be fun, last month gamestop tried selling me a used copy for $50 compared to a brand new copy for $60, I told them NO THANK YOU.

Anyways, nice review.
