Synopsis

The Simpsons: Tapped Out is a freemium video game for iOS, based on The Simpsons. The game was developed and published by EA Mobile and launched worldwide on March 1, 2012.

Setting

The setting of this game is by no surprise Springfield! so it is set around the town you have come to know and love over the years of watching Simpsons(If you have even watched the show). Most of the setting should just come to you as you progress through the game even though some places have been moved around and you have the ability to freely create your own Springfield as the previous one got destroyed at the cost of Homer( Main character) which is great as it keeps the comedy element of the actual TV series. But at least places from the cartoon series look the same, making them very familiar. And it's set in the certain seasons of real life! Overall a very good setting.

Setting Rating:9/10

Gameplay

The Gameplay was very enjoyable. Firstly the characters. The characters have all kept their attitudes even on this game, while playing it and being a fan of the TV series there wasn't anything that i found odd about the characters so that was good. Secondly the buildings. As the whole of Springfield has been destroyed in an giant explosion your objective is to create a new Springfield by re-building the places you should be familiar with. There is also a leveling up system in which you need XP to get to the next level, this is acquired by completing tasks set by members of Springfield. You need to level up to acquire new buildings, some buildings even have people assigned to them so you need to unlock them as well. Including the Simpsons Family. Although some building take real time to build, which is an issue. Overall i would say the game was very good although you could be waiting around for a long time, it is still quite an enjoyable game.

Gameplay Rating:9/10

Graphics

The graphics were surprisingly great for a game on the app store. The characters graphics were really good but that's probably mostly to do with the reason they are very small on the screen. And the actual setting looks very bright and colourful on the screen. I didn't experience any lag and the load screen were quick as well so overall a very good setting.

Controls

As it is an app, it is all done with selecting options using your finger/thumb. Overall very simple.

Overall

Overall i would say this is a very good game, it will keep you amused with the characters speech and even the hilarious cut scene to start the game off, the setting and Gameplay were both thought out well and as a result were brilliant. It's free on the app store so if you have time to download i would seriously recommend it.
