Synopsis
The Umbrella Corporations deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human races last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrellas most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

Story
Resident Evil 5 as much as it seems is not a sequal to the pre-descendent Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 5 features Chris Redfield (A former S.T.A.R.S operative and now part of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance "The BSAA") along with his Partner Sheva Alomar (Also a operative of the BSAA) are dispatched to Africa with the assignment of apprehending Ricardo Irving before he has the chance to sell Bio-organic weapons (BOW) on the black market. On their journey through-out Africa Chris and Sheva are forced to travel through marshlands & industrial areas to ancient ruins containing secret governement laboratories. On their travels they only discover there is something much deeper and more powerful hidden in Africa than any of them could have ever imagined..

Gameplay
Resident Evil 5 features both single and multiplayer game-modes. In the single player mode you have the AI partner always with you, but you do have your own customisation due to the fact you can change whether you want to play realistic is which if you accidentally shoot your partner they will take damage and after so much retaliate or you have the option that no damage will be done to them if you shoot them by accident. In single-player one of the most frustration effects is the AI player seems to have no control of where they go, in other-words you may find that while you're fending off the on-coming enemies your AI has travelled round the back and is looking at you from a far as you bravely fight for your life. Also another major fall-back of the AI is the reaction time taking for some commands, in certain scenarios you need to have the teamwork to get into "Secret" areas of to even progress further and in these scenarios you may find it takes your AI player a couple of seconds to a minute to realise you are calling for their help..
In multiplayer you may find that this is a much better option if you enjoy playing as a team although it is only 2 players that other human player can make the different between proceeding to the next chapter and being stuck at the boss of a life-time.

Graphics
In my opinion the graphics of Resident Evil 5 were the best of it's time at release. The shadows of the characters do interact completely with the movement of characters if you turn the shadow turns and also the developers have put great thought into the sunlight so the shadows of buildings and people are always in pro-portion to the sun, this is one of the many features I look for in games because it shows me that the developers have put great thought into every little detail. The movement of the characters seems to be as realistic as you can get for soldiers/special armed forces while they hold their weapons and you then have the change of movement when they don't to some-what of a morning jogger while running, which in my opinion is great because it goes to show how the movement of people will change with what they are holding. You then have the body shapes, even though Chris seems to look like a body-building who eats a bottle of steroids for breakfast and lunch you have ever tone of the muscle defined to give him his own unique look along with Sheva and her look giving the look of opposite to Chris being small, nimble and quick, even if they do move at the same speed which is a little bit of a disappointment to me as I would imagine Sheva being able to move quicker and with more precision. The final little petty thing for me that disappoints me is the way you can open doors, I'm fine with the slow way of opening doors in which they slowly push the door open as if always expecting something to be behind it, but when you force-fully blow the door open with a kick and it simple stays at a 90 degree angle from the hinge.. I and I'm sure many others can imagine if you kick a door with so force as Chris does it will not simple stay at 90 degrees, but not only that how the door closes after a set amount of time is quite annoying as it shuts as if a ghost is there to shut every door you walk through.. but after all that I think the graphics are still superb it's just the tiny little details that get my but after that it's still one of the best of it's time for me.

Controls
The controls for my are very basic: The A/X button to run, left analog stick to move, Right analog stick to aim, Y/triangle button to bring up the inventory and you can use the D-pad buttons to move in this, You then have the general triggers for the aiming and shooting, left being aim and right being shoot. For the me this controls are simple, memorable and effective! The fact they have stuck with the general use of triggers and analog stick movements and aiming will appeal to any third-person and first-person shooter player. Although the reload is different to many games where the general use is a single button press for Resident Evil 5 you must be aiming down sight and then you have to press A/X to reload but for me this is a great asset for the Resident Evil franchise as it brings a unique sense to the game as a whole. For me the controls are great! There is not much else they could do for the controls to make it easy and also keep the unique feeling you get when playing on a Resident Evil game.

Other facts
There was another game-mode in the original game called "Mercenaries" in which you could player as single or multiplayer and had the choice of many different characters such as: Chris Redfield BSAA, Sheva Alomar BSAA, Chris Redfield Safari, Sheva Alomar Tribal and many other characters that are included. To start with you only have the original characters and outfits but by playing this minigame and achieving A and up ratings on each map will unlock other characters and outfits and maps.
You then had the Dlc release called "Lost in Nightmares" in where you played as Chris Redfield and Jill valentine on an assignment set by S.T.A.R.S to infiltrate one of Spencer's manors and apprehend him, in which they find a very shocking surprise.
The next Dlc Capcom had to offer us was called "Desperate Escape" and in this install-ment of Resident Evil 5 you had the choice of playing as either Josh Stone (A BSAA agent) and Jill valentine as they travel together to assist Chris and Sheva in apprehending *Spoiler*
Wesker before he has the chance to spread the "Uroborus" virus.

Another feature due to Dlc was the versus game-mode in which up to 4 players couple play as two teams of two or all against eachother in two different game-modes called "Slayer" which is a point-based game where the objective was to kill as many "majini". And also you have the "survivors" mode in which players are pit against eachother to gain points while also surviving the on-coming hordes of majini.
Resident Evil 5 also had many Racist allegations before release due to the first trailer of the game showed the protagonist Chris Redfield killing many black enemies in a small african village, but however in the second trailer it showed a more equal race of enemies, but however designer Jun Takeuchi denied that complaints of racism had any effect in this alteration, I guess that's if for you to make up.

Rating
For me Resident Evil 5 was a great install-ment in the series of Resident Evil and still to this day for me is a great game to play to kill time, although it has the few graphic features which bug me it is still a great game and for me I will have to give this game a:
8/10.

I really like the game because you can have a rapid fire mod without having a rapid fire controller!

I personally love this game, have run through is many times just because I wanted every gun unlimited ammo, so I always had a task. Although the controls do take some time getting used to, and it's kind of repetitive ..
