Synopsis(WIKI)
Call of Duty: Finest Hour is a first-person shooter developed for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It was released on 16 November 2004. It was the first console installment of Call of Duty, developed by Spark Unlimited and published by Activision. It was followed up by a sequel, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, in 2005. The game runs on the RenderWare engine.
Although it is based on the original Call of Duty franchise for the PC, it has a completely different storyline and acts as a side-story/expansion of the main game. In the spirit of previous Call of Duty games, it features six intertwined stories and battles based on real events from the perspective of soldiers on each side of the allied campaign (U.S., British, and Soviet).
The game's music was composed by Michael Giacchino who previously worked on the original Call of Duty and the Medal of Honor franchise. AC/DC singer Brian Johnson provides the voice of Sergeant Starkey, one of the British commandos.

Story
Call of Duty Finest Hours takes on the main perspectives of various characters, throughout various landscapes, and scenarios overall. The main time era throughout the game is throughout the various WWII, as the game follows various storylines of various characters, all from various sides of the war; play as the Soviets, British soldiers, and US soldiers, all fighting against the Axis, playing throughout a wide variety of various missions and persepctives. The main objectives vary for each player, but the most used character, and most time played with a specific character is Pvt. Aleksandr Sokolov, a Private fighting for the Russians. The story varies with various objectives, including destroying certain tanks, or bases, taking on various amounts of tasks throughout the game.

Graphics
Being developed and published in 2004, it was somewhat difficult to judge and critique some areas in Call of Duty Finest Hour. Comparing this to other games from that time, Finest Hour really delivered some amazing scenarios throughout the game, considering that the overall game took place in some exotic places. The game features some very varied scenarios, but not all of the scenarios are crafted well. Some areas of texture look very poorly designed, and some areas of very cartoonish, even for its time period. The characters in the game lack detail, and some aspects can seem very poorly structured as a whole. The detail lacks, and some guns look very poorly designed, and the structure of some buildings lack also. The explosions and gunshots are very poor, and look like blotches of 2D paint, a huge aspect since it is a FPS.

Gameplay
Call of Duty Finest Hour delivered some major aspect of well structure gameplay, which was its variety of the game entirely. There was a huge variety in the gameplay, as there were tons of various ways to play; tanks, airplanes, submachine guns, rifles, snipers, and so on, the list continues. There was so much variety which boosts up its overall score for Gameplay. The storyline takes on extreme variety, switching characters, gameplay design, and so on. Although there was variety, surprisingly there was some repetition, when it comes to gunplay. There was a lot of boring rifle gameplay, aiming at the same person until they come out of cover and so on. Higher difficulties seem to have some very difficult aspects to it when it comes to level structure. Some controls may seem very confusing at first, but over time, you do get used to it. The gameplay was very varied, but lacked as well.

Reception
The reception for Call of Duty Finest Hour really stayed within the average/mediocre range from some of the bigger reviewing companies. The scores really stayed within the average to lower scored ratings, mainly from the more known companies. On the negative side, Finest Hour was appointed for its lack of graphics, and even though there was some variety, the gameplay did lack also. On the positive side, Finest Hour was appointed for its wide variety of gameplay, a wide variety of storyline, and overall great variety. The game mostly received higher 6s, some 7s, and occasionally some 8s, but nothing special, or very low. The overall score for reception was a 7.5.

FINAL RATINGS:
Synopsis: 7
Story: 9
Graphics: 5.5
Gameplay: 6.5
Reception: 7.5
FINAL RATING: 7.1 - Variety, But Major Flaws, Poor Graphics, and Poor Structure Overall
