Synopsis(WIKI)
Amped 3 is a snowboarding game, the third installment of the Amped sports game franchise, developed by Indie Built/2K Sports. It expands on previous versions of the Xbox exclusive games by featuring larger levels, customizable terrains, a 300 song soundtrack, and various Xbox Live online features as well as the ability to use a snowmobile, a variety of sleds and even a hang glider. There are also substantial changes to the gameplay which provide for a more irreverent tone, such as challenges in which two players compete to amass the most injuries and a 10 hour story mode presented in a variety of different styles. It is also known for its unique cut scenes using everything from Hand Puppets to Anime.

Story
The story begins with an unnamed character, known as Player 1, as you have not given him a name or any individuality yet, dressed in Rabbit costume, snowboarding. When you accidentally fall off of a huge cliff, you are knocked out, waking up to a Snow goddess, known as Dandelion. Here, is where you start to being adding various features and customization to your character, including your gender, which was hidden underneath the rabbit costume. After this, you are reunited with your team, in true form. From here on, you are to complete various missions for various people in order to succeed into the further missions and locations where you continue the storyline of your player, and his crew, on their journey encountering various enemies, with various powers, and somewhat very creative storyline overall.

Graphics
Amped 3 delivers a somewhat very anime type of feel throughout the game, with various types of somewhat 2D graphics, and scenarios throughout the game. This would seem to fit creatively in a game like this, but the graphics really do lack in this game as a whole. The Colors are very cartoonish, featuring horribly crafted 2D objects with their cartoonish feels throughout. The scenarios are very widely varied, even though a majority is of snow mountains, it does succeed to deliver a great overall scenario like experience, with its majority. Also, the characters are individually crafted with unique appearances, and all have very detailed appearances as a whole. The bugs in the graphic design do fault also, as the game features some very poorly constructed mountains, and various objects in the game.

Gameplay
Amped 3 tried to recreate the snowboarding game experience, to reinvent the way we played sports games, redoing snowboarding entirely. Amped 3 does succeed to deliver neat gameplay, but fails to reinvent snowboarding games as whole. Amped is constructed of the standard missions, with various types of objectives, but seems to repeat itself. Although you're not grinding on pine trees on one map, you're grinding on a metal rail for another. The gameplay is not only fluent with repetitiveness, but is also fluent with the buggy, laggy aspect of it. Missions have various bugs, including mission structure. You might crash into a tree, and not be injured, but skim past one and are knocked down. Along with the bugs, the game delivers some very confusing controls, with some very hard to use controls, that are very complex, and performing certain tricks or moves, might be entirely too hard, especially for a new comer. Overall, not the best gameplay.

Reception
As expected, the reception for Amped 3 did not receive the best overall feedback. The game was mostly entirely criticized on the very cartoonish graphic design, including some very buggy gameplay entirely. The game also had some serious repetition throughout the game, which also struck out towards game critics. On the upsides of the game, Amped was recognized for its amazing customization, and amazing overall individuality of constructing your own character, the way you like it, and with various features and aspects to it entirely. From some major reviewing companies, Amped received a 6.9 from IGN, around 3 1/2 stars from various other companies that went by that system, and was recognized for its customization, but negatively appointed for its repetition and buggy gameplay.

FINAL RATINGS:
Synopsis: 8
Story: 8.5
