Synopsis(WIKI)
The Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs video game from Activision was released on the Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Games for Windows, and Nintendo DS on June 30, 2009. A demo was made available in the Xbox Live Marketplace on June 15, 2009.[53] The game allows the player to take control of Manny, Sid, Diego, Scrat, Scratte and Buck as they take on or run away from dangerous dinosaurs, roll eggs to safety, chase for their beloved acorn, and explore caves and jungles.

Story
Ice Age: Dawn of the dinosaurs follows basically the same exact storyline as the original movie does. Although some aspects don't necesarily follow it exactly, it does a pretty good job of individualizing itself from the movie, giving it somewhat of a new gaming feel. The game consists of the protagonist; Sid. As Dinosaurs mysteriously seem to appear throughout the area, Sid takes on various tasks and missions. Nothing with a very sincere purpose, but it does have a quite unique feel. The game takes place during the Ice Age, if you haven't guessed it. Sid, an ancient Sloth, is seeking friendship; remember, the movie and game are based off of kids genres, so comply with me here; when a dinosaur hatches out of no where, he must find its origin, taking on various tasks along the way.

Graphics
The graphics in this game is basically what brings up the entire game's score up at a whole. Being a game aimed for toddlers, and the younger genre, the game features some bright, and vivid colors, that really boost up the games score. Ice Age DOD brings out some pretty vivid scenarios. The major downfall of it, is the fact that basically everything is cartoon like, and has some major issues issuing the realizing to gamers. Ice Age delivers an insanely poorly designed Cartoonish feel, along with some messy character designs, and scenario designs. Once again, nothing too special. The game does deliver an abundance of colors, vivid scenarios, and a variety of different aspects towards the graphics aspect of the review.

Gameplay
The gameplay in Ice Age DOD varies, and this variety is what brings up the gameplay's score. Ice Age really focuses on various tasks, missions, and the variety in this game never really ends. Although it might seem entirely like a kids game, some aspects are quite challenging, and have not much of a laggy feel. Although this does prosper, the downfall occurs in the controls, what's actually in the missions, and the gameplay in general. To start off, the controls are extremely easy. Not saying this is a bad thing, but the game acts as if it were aimed towards 4 year olds. Also, the missions and tasks are extremely weak. One mission might include little, very short responses towards the gameplay, and it may have a very weak structure gameplay wise. It might be very boring, not much to do, and this boredom is expressed throughout the entire game.

Reception
As expected, Ice Age DOD was not awarded some very prosperous awards, but in general the reviews and scores were aimed towards the higher negative side, or lower mediocre aspects. The game received an entire overall of around 6/10, or 3 stars. From IGN, it was given a 6.5/10 and 3 stars from various other reviewing companies, such as XPlay. The game was very much praised for its variety in gameplay, as I had said before. The variety prospered its score, and the attempt to give a variety of gameplay is what impressed some gamers. Nothing too special was given in rewards wise, and the ratings stayed withing the 5-6 zone or so.
