Developers: Realtime Worlds
Publishers: Microsoft game Studios
Platform: Xbox 360
Genre: 3rd Person Action
Rating: 18+, M

Synopsis(Wiki)
Crackdown is an open world, third-person shooter video game for the Xbox 360. It was released in North America on February 20, 2007, and worldwide by February 23, 2007. Crackdown was developed by Realtime Worlds, and distributed by Microsoft Game Studios. It was conceived by Realtime Worlds' founder, David Jones, who also created Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings.[2] Its sequel, Crackdown 2, was released in July 2010.
Set in the fictional Pacific City, the player controls a biologically enhanced Agent, tasked with defeating three crime lords and their organized crime syndicates. The Agent's abilities improve by defeating both crime lords and their supporters, as well as by completing optional activities, such as street races and scavenger hunts. The gameplay is nonlinear: instead of following a rigid mission sequence, players are free to select the approach to completing their missions and activities. The game features a two-player cooperative play mode via Xbox Live.

Story
Crackdown follows the story of a metropolis called "Pacific City". Throughout Pacific City, there are 3 major gang operations that run the city, and keep it clean. The peacekeepers of Pacific City are basically the ultimate police of the area. They are to rid the city of the gangs presence, as well as keeping the town clean and free. Your main character takes on one of the agents for the Peacekeepers. The main idea of the game is to roam the city and complete missions, somewhat of a GTA 4 style game type. As you go throughout the city, you complete various missions, taking down the gangs and gang leaders one at a time. As you progress you unlock various unlockables and customizations and so on.

Graphics
The graphics in Crackdown are actually very well designed and overall well oriented. The game features a various amount of exploration throughout the game, featuring multiple different scenarios to explore, and very well designed game structure. One thing I tend to criticize is the interface and menu screens, and in Crackdown these are also very well designed, keeping a futuristic, yet clean enviornment to them. The only issue with graphics is the fact that the graphics do get quite repetitive over time. The game features varieties of different buildings and structures, but in the long run, they tend to repeat and stay the same. The destruction is very low, and it keeps a standard graphics system, nothing really special.

Gameplay
The gameplay in Crackdown is really revolutionary towards the way we play free roam games, such as Crackdown itself. Crackdown delivers tons of very different things to do throughout the game. There are various missions, guns and various places to explore throughout. There is no doubt about that, and that makes the game very likable. The only major detriment in this game is the amount of repetitiveness that continues basically throughout the entire game. There are predictable story lines, and expected bosses, appearing everywhere and anywhere. The game features some pretty boring storylines although the exploration is great. The game has its down sides and has its upsides, but overall delivers some nice gameplay never the less.

Reception
Crackdown received some medicore scores and some lenghty reviews. The game got some middled 8/10 or some 7/10 saying that the game was fun for exploration, but had some pretty major flaws throughout the game. That is no doubt. Overall the game received some lower to average scores, but nothing completely special. Although there were tons of reviews, they all seemed to stay within the same rating range and what not.

i enjoyed it when it first came out but it did get repetitive after a while. I get it again when it become backwards compatible and i played it again for a while and again the same thing it was really fun but then it suddenly just became too boring to keep going.

Hoping whenever the 3rd one drops that it keeps the same feeling the games have always had and builds on them to make them a repeatable and fun experience. And playing as Terry Crews is a great start for them in my eyes as hes hilarious xD
