Synopsis(WIki)
Call of Juarez: The Cartel is a first-person shooter video game developed by Techland.[1] The game is part of the Call of Juarez western-themed video games, but is set in modern-day Los Angeles and Mexico as up to three players take the role of law enforcement agents.[2] Call of Juarez: The Cartel was demonstrated at Penny Arcade Expo East 2011 and was released on July 19, 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows on September 13, 2011.[3]

Story
COJ the Cartel follows the storyline of a squadron of officers, investigating recent crimes in the area including alleged murders of LAPD officers. Most recently however, a bombing went off, killing multiple LAPD officers, letting the squadron of officers to be called out to investigate the bombings, and link the murders back to its original doings. Throughout the story, you investigate various members, and areas looking for its original doers. When the squadron finds out that it is most likely one of the gangs in the area, the group decides to interfere with an on going drug war that has been going for years, and by doing this, it will mean getting their hands dirty.

Graphics
This game actually has some decent graphics at this point. The Cartel, features some very well crafted scenarios, even though some aspects of the lighting are horribly made. The game features quite some beautiful scenarios, including a variety of various scenarios and enviornments to play from. The down side to the graphics, are how the characters, guns, and explosions are crafted. This is quite the downfall to its score. Guns literally look like blocks of metal. There is no details to the guns, not to mention pistols. Characters are also very poorly crafted. The game features body structure of cartoonish characters, something you would expect to see in a 2008 PS2 game, not a 2011 Game. The interface, and menu screens are quite terrible. They look like text found at the bottom of the default installed list, with no details or effects added to them. The menus are crappy as well. They're all black boxes, boxy, and plain.

Gameplay
The gameplay in this game brings down its overall score just as much as the graphics aspect did. The bugs and glitchy gameplay throughout is just extremely unexpected for a 2011 game, featuring numerous bugs, jumping spots, glitchy movements and so on. The list goes down. There are way too many bugs and errors that are just unexceptable for this type of game. Shooting guns is quite terrible along with the glitches. The userface for shooting and iron sites look like iron sites you would see in an original COD game, or a cheaply made PS2 game. For example;

The game really has some major flaws throughout the gameplay.

Reception
As expected, Call of Juarez, the Cartel, received some very painfully low scores and reviews from some of the most famous game reviwers, and shows from around the gaming community. The overall, was around a 64/100, or a 6.5/10. The game got some negative reviews when it came to its shooting style, and the way iron sights were laid out, along with the character constructions, and interfaces. The game got a 6/10 from IGN, and a low 2/5 stars from various star-based-critique critics. The reception for this game was not the best.
