Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is a first-person shooter video game in the Battlefield series, developed by Digital Illusions CE. Modern Combat is the first Battlefield game for video game consoles.
The game was initially released for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 on October 25, 2005 in North America. On April 11, 2006, an updated version of the game was released for the Xbox 360 featuring improved graphics and online features. A PlayStation Portable version was announced in 2005, but was canceled. Instead, DICE developed Battlefield: Bad Company for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Story
Battlefield 2, modern combat, takes the place of scenario around the futuristic warfare. The game follows a simplistic story line that follows a fictional war between US, China, and all in the middle of Kazhakstan. The game follows various characters and scenarios that you play in, as well as different sides of the nation that you play as. You go throughout the storyline playing as various different nations and characters, through various missions and plotlines for each individual person. The story does lack a main focus point, and features a less interesting gameplay. The story follows, however some interesting futuristic gameplay including some interesting nuclear war missile defusing and what not. This gameplay can be very interesting at times.

Graphics
Being developed, and published offically in 2005, this game was not expected to follow amazing graphic development in the least. What was given, was actually quite good for its era and time. The graphics were quite impressive in this game. The game was all around very well and smoothly crafted all around. Gun crafts were very well made, and gun shots and explosions are great. The online multiplayer also has lots of various greatly made. The scenarios may be the only fault. Although it does have a variety of scenarios, the only scenarios that are completely well made are the desert like areas. Other than that, everything else is basically great.

Gameplay
The gameplay in this game is quite amazing, to say the least. The gameplay has tons of variety and customization throughout singleplayer and multiplayer. The game also has tons of variety throughout game stylization and what not. The game features tons of various guns, game types, and different storylines to base off of. Throughout the game there are tons of different ways to play; tactically, run and gun, and so on. Multiplayer is a also a great addition to the game with quite a lot to take from it. There are various online modes to choose from, and fulfill to your potential. Although most of the servers are down, and basically no one plays the game any more. The scenarios are amazing online. The game features tons of unlockables, a level system, and quite a lot of other things to explore.

Reception
Although the game would expect to receive amazing reviews from critics. Although it did recieve very good reviews from various critics, some of the more known critics and what not gave it mediocre reviews and what not. The game received the award for best online multiplayer. The game also recieved an overall of around 8/10; although the game was quite good, some critics acclaimed lots could be done to fix it and what not. XPlay gave the game a 3/5, saying it was a quality game with a few glitches here and there. The reception overall from this game wasn't the best.
