Synopsis

Guinness World Records: The Video Game is a video game based on the best-selling Guinness World Records series of books with world records such as Sheep Shearing, Phone Book tearing, Airplane eating and growing the worlds longest fingernails. The game was released on November 7, 2008 in Europe and November 11, 2008 in North America.

Setting

The setting for this game was self explanatory, they were based in many random places around the world, re-inacting the records that have gone down in history. From France to Tokyo you travel through many different scenerys, which is why i loved the games setting for the fact that it just kept constantly changing instead of some cheap knock-off having all the settings repeated for different countries ect.. Overall it was a really good setting thus making a really good game.

Setting Rating:8.3/10

Gameplay

The gameplay i must say is excellent, just all the different types of records you can break, going from the down-right stupid to the totally extreme. I loved the fact it was on WII but that also came to be annoying when, im doing the record breaking for the highest BMX jump, and i have to shake my WII remote up and down for like 2 minutes non-stop and my arm basically becomes dead! I also loved the fact it was based on real record breaks i remember reading out of the Guinness book, the man who smashed open a bunch of watermelons only using his head, then doing it on the game was fun, although sometimes i would make him hit his head on the wood, as i am easily entertained and its a break from playing seriously. It was in a 3D perspective aswell which was good. Also you got to pick a character at the beginning of the game which you can customize, which i thought was a neat touch, made it more like you were actually breaking the records, which i think is what the developers were trying to get at.

Gameplay Rating:9.1/10

Graphics

The graphics were pretty good, the WII games usually did have amazing graphics when it came to games like Okami. I had no bugs.glitch problems the game looked good while playing it, even though most of the effort was shaking my WII remote around like a madman. Overall the graphics were pretty good and smooth.

Graphics Rating:8.3/10

Controls

Well the controls were pretty easy, as it is the WII after-all, all you had to do was use the A and B buttons and shake your WII remote, so it was fun as all WII games usually are, overall i loved the controls and this game altogether.

Controls Rating:9.1/10

Overall

Overall this was a pretty good game, the graphics and gameplay was really good, the different features altogether was amazing, one of my favorite WII games, if you own a WII i would recommend getting this game as it will be cheap around now.

Overall Rating:8.6/10
