Release Date: Autumn 2010
Developers: Spry Fox
Publishers: Spry Fox
Platforms: iOS, Android, Browser, Mobile Device
Genre: Puzzle, City Building
Players: Single Player
Rating: E (Everyone)

Synopsis:

Players are given random tiles, most often grass tiles, which they must place on the grid. When three identical tiles adjoin, they merge into one more advanced tile at the position of the last tile placed: three grass tiles become a bush, three bushes a tree, three trees a cottage and so forth. Special tiles include bears, which walk around blocking building sites; crystals, which can be used as a wild card to make any match; or robots, which remove individual tiles. The player may keep one tile in reserve and use it when needed.
The object of the game is to upgrade one's settlement's tiles to as high a rank as possible, earning an accordingly high score. The game ends if all fields of the grid are filled with tiles.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is extremely addictive. If I unlocked the full version I could play this game for hours without noticing any time going by. In the game your goal is to combine tiles. This sounds a lot easier then it actually is, especially when bears come into play. You start out with grass tiles and when you combine 3 or more of them they become a bush. When you get 3 or more bushes by each other they become a tree and so on. Your goal is to combine as many pairs of 3 or more and rack up tons of points by doing so. When bears are on the map they move around causing you not to be able to lay tiles down where they are standing. To stop this you have to trap them in a closed off area with no where to move. There is also ninja bears that don't just move around the map but they jump. You can only turn these bears into gravestones if all the other tiles are filled up. Once you do this they turn into a grave stone which can be combined with other grave stones to make castles. When you start playing this game it seems like a simple puzzle game but later you realize it requires a lot of strategy to be able to stay in a game for a long time without filling all the spots up. Diamonds can make any two tiles that are in need of a 3rd match pair up. They are essential for when the game gets harder and their is less space. Another useful tile would be the ghoul, whenever you get this it lets you destroy one tile in the game. This can be very useful when your game is filling up or you want to get rid of a useless tile. Every game you earn points for how well you did and these points can be spent on items or turns when you need them in future games.

Gameplay Rating: 10/10

Graphics:

The graphics are simple drawn graphics. I found them great for the game with no glitches or lag. The game does a great job of tiny people walking around within the game and all the plants and animals have a unique look to them that I enjoyed while I played. I think this game has some great graphics that were not eye sores.

Graphics Rating: 8/10

Controls:

The controls are extremely simple because this is a point and click/touch game. You should have no trouble understanding and getting used to the controls. I, myself have never had a problem with them and know nobody who has. The controls should become second nature after a short while if not immediately.

Controls Rating: 9/10

Casual gaming website Gamezebo named TripleTown the best Facebook game of 2011
