Synopsis:

Pokmon Ruby and Sapphire take place in Hoenn, a fictional region based on the island of Kysh in Japan. The region contains nine cities and six towns along with different geographical locations, all of which are connected by Routes. As in previous games, some areas are only accessible once the player fulfills a certain condition.
Like other Pokmon games, Ruby and Sapphire's gameplay is linear; the main events occur in a fixed order. The protagonist of Pokmon Ruby and Sapphire is a child who has recently moved to Littleroot Town. At the beginning of the games, the player chooses either Torchic, Mudkip, or Treecko as his or her starter Pokmon from Professor Birch. His friend, the protagonist's rival, is also a Pokmon Trainer and occasionally battles the player. The games' two main goals are defeating the Elite Four to become the new Champion and completing the Pokdex by capturing, evolving, and trading to obtain all 386 Pokemon.

Story:

In the story you are a kid who has just moved to Littleroot Town in the Hoenn region. In the beginning of the game you have the option to pick either Mudkip, Torchic or Treeko as your first pokemon. Then you start out on your quest to earn all eight badges and to complete the pokedex. You have also have to defeat team aqua and magma. In Pokemon Ruby team magma is trying to dry up the oceans with the power of Groudon. In Sapphire team aqua is trying to flood the region with the power of Kyogre. When the reigion is suffering horrible storms you have to either capture or defeat Groudon or Kyogre to stop it.

Story Rating: 9/10

Gameplay:

The game is played from a overhead/third person view. The game very similar to the previous games in the series. When your walking through wild areas you may encounter wild pokemon that will attack you. When battling them you can either capture or defeat them. To capture a pokemon you have to have pokeballs and the pokemon has to give in when they are inside on you've thrown. When you battle other players your pokemon have to fight theirs. The gameplay is fun and addicting. This game is one of the best games I ever played when I was younger. I still enjoy playing it from time to time.

Gameplay Rating: 9/10

Graphics:

The graphics are not the best but I enjoyed the graphics a lot. I think they are fine for the game and it does not need anything better. This game made a lot of improvements from all the previous games, Everything looks a lot better.

Graphics Rating: 9/10

Controls:

The controls are the best they could have been for the game. The controls are very simple and perfect for the game. You can get used to them fairly fast.Getting around the game and battling other players is all very easy and simple.

Controls Rating: 10/10

Overall Rating: 9.5/10 (Very fun game with a great control system. Great graphics and a story for all ages.)
