Story

Following on from the massively popular Fruit Ninja on iPod it has now come to kinect. It's a minigame! There is no frequent story but a fun energetic game for all the family. You can choose from multiple mini games which do vary, the aim of the game is to swipe the flying fruit which fly up into the air, the more fruit to hit the more points you get. If you swipe multiple fruit with one swipe you get combo's which can add onto your score. At some points in the game a bonus melon will appear this fruit can be struck around 10-15 times, trust me this does hurt your arms! You can unlock background and special swipe colours as you move through the ways of the ninja, attacking fruit that is.. The arcade game comes at 800 MSP and is 140.11 MB size wise, so the around the same as the new MW3 map packs. The game also features online but is only used for DLC and leader-boards so you can compare with your friends but can't play them over 2 consoles. You can either play 1-2 single player or 1-2 co-op which I found the family participate alot easier than waiting for everybody turn and people will just get bored but the game does change so it isn't too repetitive, but does sometimes as all your doing is slicing fruit. Even though I'm only using my arms, the Kinect had a hell of a time focusing my swings when I was sitting down. So it is definitely a game you have to play standing up.

Graphics

In my opinion the graphics were amazing, the crisp sharp colours on the fruit made it such a bright game, played on a 1080p LED tv really made a difference of the colourful fruit exploding in the air. The HUD and main menu looks very sleek too, the blades you use to cut the fruit are very precise even though they are motion controlled. For an arcade game this really does set a benchmark, when I have played previous kinect games the graphics have been no were as good as this. The sound is also very crisp when you cut the fruit, there is a couple of slicing pre sets so it isn't just when "SHHXX" they vary which is very good to stop the game from getting too repetitive. There are some cool effects for your slashes, but it's just the same stuff over and over when you play it alot.

Controls

You are the controller, you are the blade. You will have to use your arms and hands on this on slicing away and getting that fruit and scores. The actual aspect of you being the blade is very well done, it gives you a bevelled area to stand in so it is obvious where to stand and chop chop chop.

Overall

There's not much depth here beyond leader boards. It can be much more fun when playing with the family. The similar modes made me feel done with the game not long after I started it. It's a good game if you have nothing else to do and want to occupy yourself in a fitness way.
