Synopsis

Brtal Legend is an action-adventure/real-time strategy game created by Double Fine Productions and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was released during October 2009 in North America and Europe. Though Brtal Legend was originally to be published by Vivendi Games prior to its merger with Activision, Activision had dropped the game from its portfolio after the merger. It was later picked up by Electronic Arts, though Activision and Double Fine brought counter-lawsuits against each other over publishing issues. The issues were settled out of court.

Gameplay

Brutal Legend is an open world game. The map in it is pretty big it is supposed to be, in the game, 40 square miles. And in Brutal Legend you have objectives to accomplish and as the story line goes you get more upgrades and more places that you can access. You can choose to either walk around the map or drive around in your vehicle. You can access upgrades for you and your ride. Your character is voiced by Jack Black and his name is Eddie Riggs who is transported to the heavy metal world. In this alternate world, the human race is enslaved by Doviculus. You use three tools that are used for combat and transportation, a broad axe called "The Separator", the Flying V guitar "Clementine" from his world has the ability to cast spells in the heavy metal world. and you have "hot rod" that you build called "The Druid Plow", or "The Deuce". There are 23 main missions and 30 side missions. When you go to the missions you can choose to play them then or later. In the missions you fight off foes and take over areas for your own and you acquaintances. You have 3 acquaintances and they are Lars Halford, Lita, and Ophelia.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer is like one on one battle with your axes. It can be one versus one up to four versus four. The money system in this game is fans. Multiplayer can also be a single player against computer controlled enemies ranging from five different difficulties. Other than that there is really nothing else because the multiplayer doesnt have much to do.

Graphics

The graphics of this game I think are pretty good for 2009. The hands are a little mis-proportional but I think that is only on Eddie. The effects of your battle axe are pretty good too but could be better. And the sky, oh the sky, it is horrid. Obviously it's only 2009 but the sky is still horrible I know it is still better than some of todays games but I still think it could be better as in every other game. And the same goes for the water it is better than some of the games today but it is also pretty bad but most games don't have very good water. But in all including everything I think that the graphics aren't too bad.

Conclusion

I think that overall Brutal Legend was a very fun game. I mostly enjoied the gameplay missions and just running around for fun more than anthing. The multiplayer in my opinion was not very fun and I never really played it because I didn't. And the graphics I would say were very pleasing for 2009. So if you like open world, heavy metal music this would defineley be your type of game. And I'm not 100 percent sure but I wouldn't think that this game would be too expensive!!
