Developed by: Bongfish GmbH
Release Date: December 8, 2010
Genre: Racing
ESRB: Teen
PEGI: 7

Synopsis:
Harms Way is a racing advergame developed by independent software developer Bongfish GmbH for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade service. It was released on December 8, 2010 for free as one of the finalists of the Doritos-sponsored "Unlock Xbox" competition for 2010, alongside Doritos Crash Course. Originating from a hybrid racing/shooting game concept by Ogden, Utah gamer Justin Carpenter, this game has a wasteland-like setting and feeling, similar to Borderlands. On December 29, 2010, it was announced that Harms Way lost to Doritos Crash Course in the second "Unlock Xbox" competition. However, due to positive feedback on both games, Frito-Lay decided to give both Carpenter and competition winner Jill Robertson the same US$50,000 consultation prize each.

Gameplay:
I was hoping this game was going to be like Twisted Metal, I was disappointed that it was; but quickly reassured that it was a good game. You can choose between Shooter and Driver. The driving involves you choosing a car, and racing around a dirt track, with jumps, shortcuts, and 3 other racers, while the shooters are on cliffsides, and the racers unlock guns for them. The shooters start with a sniper that can be deadly; but mostly just sucks. You can unlock all the way up to rockets. You can shoot down traps for racers or open shortcuts. The game is fairly short and not many tracks; but for over a year I've enjoyed playing it on occasion. And its FREE . Who doesn't like that. Its even better than lots of Arcade Games I played. I think if they would of focused more on a game like Twisted Metal, or even focused on more maps, this game would be perfect.

Graphics:
The graphics are really good for a Arcade Game. The lighting is a bit off it seems; but the rendering is great. The graphics are as good as modern racing games. So they don't draw from the gameplay at all.

Controls:
The controls are fairly simple, and just like any racing game. I don't really like the shooting controls; but they are easy to use. The racing controls are much better and even faster to learn. The steering is a bit sharp; but not too hard to handle. They overall are really good.
