Gears of War 3 is a third-person shooter video game developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Studios exclusively for the Xbox 360. Originally due for release in April 2011, the game was delayed and eventually released on September 20, 2011.
Gears of War 3 made over one million pre-orders and was one of the most anticipated games of 2011.It is the third installment of the Gears of War series, and the final game in the current story arc.

Story

The story line picks up after the events of Gears of War 2, you find yourself starting out as Marcus Fenix, on a CoG ship sailing out from the island of Vectes, trying to find supplies. The former chairman of the Gears is then brought onto the ship via helicopter holding a disc from Adam Fenix(Marcus's father), telling him that he knew how to destroy the locust. The main plot of the story is to find Adam Fenix, but as any seasoned Gear player knows, that is much easier said then done.

Gameplay

Gears of War 3 is a third person shooter title, the player will often find themselves running and diving between cover to destroy the enemies with shotguns, bayonets, and chainsaws. The control scheme is rather easy to get a hang of, and the overall gameplay is very smooth. Players can sprint for an unlimited amount of time, and can get bonuses by achieving "active reloads"

Horde

An upgraded version of the "Horde" gamemode introduced in Gears of War 2, Horde 2.0 allows the players to do much more. You can build fences, turrets, decoys, and suits of armor to help you achieve your goal of surviving. On every 10th round there is a boss, bonus rounds happen occasionally allowing the players to get a cash bonus and assorted weapons. Players can now activate small "mods" before the game such as big head mode, and infinite ammo to alter their gameplay experience.

Beast Mode

New to the Gears of War series, Beast Mode is a "counter Horde" game. It allows the players to play as assorted locust enemies and attempt to take out the CoG soldiers within a 1 minute time limit. Players get time bonuses for killing enemies and destroying their fortifications, players will also get to play as enemies such as Tickers, and Armored Kantuses. There is a 12 round cap on Beast mode as of now.

Multiplayer:

Gears 3 multiplayer is similar to that of Gears 2, but now players can choose from more characters. And a few new weapons such as the "Retro Lancer" and the "Sawed Off". Gears 3 still contains gametypes such as Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Capture the Leader, Warzone, Execution, and Wingman.

Gears of War 3 is just an amazing title, I recommend all shooter fans on the Xbox 360 get it. The campaign keeps the player involved and guessing, and beast mode is so fun! It has amazing replay-ability.
