Hello Everyone,
Lots of people including me, have been annoyed by how Minecraft may automatically update your Minecraft. I also know that many people have accidentally Updated their version of Minecraft and now cannot play on their favorite modded servers or use their own mods. If you would like to learn how downgrade your Minecraft, you're in luck! It is very easy to day just read the respectable tutorial depending on what kind of computer you have;Mac or PC. If you are at all confused,just watch the video tutorial. If you still are puzzled, you may contact me via private message or AIM/Skype. My AIM is wolf91058 @ gmail.com and my Skype is desolationrift. I am willing to help you! These tutorials work for downgrading to any version, version downloads are located at the bottom of the page.
MAC
1.Go to the bottom of this page.
2.Download the File labeled Mac that you would like to downgrade to.
3.Close your Minecraft and open the new file in Finder.
4.Rename it to minecraft.jar.
5.Move it to your desktop.
6.Open a new Finder window.
7.Go to your account name, then Library, then application support, and then scroll down to minecraft and open it.
8.You should see a bin folder, open it.
9.Delete the minecraft.jar that is currently in your bin folder.
10.Move your new minecraft.jar into the bin folder.
11.Open up Minecraft.
12.Have Fun!
Video Tutorial
PC
1. make sure all of your minecraft clients are closed and not open
2. Download this the PC file that you want to downgrade to(Located at the bottom of the page)
3. extract it to your desktop
4. go to your start and type run in
5. in run type %appdata%
6. go to your .minecraft folder then the bin folder
7. delete everything in the bin folder then replace it with the 1.6.6 folders
8. there you go, enjoy your downgraded minecraft!

didnt work for me, idk why but i downloaded the file, deleted all the 1.7 stuff but cant replace it
