Game Information
Release Date: 21/04/2011
Developed By: Valve
Genre: Puzzle
Platform: Cross Platform
Age Restriction: 12+

Synopsis
The sequel to the physics-bending phenomenon is finally here: Portal 2! Waking up after an unknown amount of time in stasis, Chell finds herself captive at the Aperture Science labs once more but the facility is badly decayed. Worse still, the homicidal A.I. GLaDOS is not only active, but determined to repair the facility and continue its deadly portal experiments.
Utilise the legendary Portal Gun, alongside some new tricks and unlikely allies, to evade and escape GLaDOS clutches. Think Portal with more portal.

Story
In Portal 2 we are once again given control of the fearless Chell, fearless because no matter what we put in front of her in the first Portal she still jumped through it even if the results were not always favourable.
Once again we find ourselves playing at the Aperture Laboratories picking up after we left off from the first game for those who remember we had overthrown GLaDOS and all seemed right with the world. Well apparently not because it seems our efforts were in vain as it soon becomes clear that not only are we still in the Aperture Complex (which is now looking a bit worse for wear after the explosion) but apparently we still have a small problem..GLaDOS..and yes she's even more unhappy that you killed her.

Gameplay
This is the most fun you'll have taking tests. Obviously you get the legendary Portal Gun once again..how else are you going to make all them holes?, the nice people over at Valve have also given us some new tricks like the ability to slide really fast and even jump that bit higher using a splodge of paint as well as unlikely allies all designed (depends how you see it) to help or hinder our escape from GLaDOS. With Steve Merchant at your side the single player does not disappoint, even bigger, even better puzzles await you in this sequal.
Then when you decide that your the boss at this game you can rope a friend in to play the co-op with you. Now let me just say something, the single best feature of this game is the ability to point out individual points anywhere on screen in the game to your co-op friend. This is a lifesaver. Literally. Because when your about to push a button you want to know that your buddy is standing in the right place and not in the middle of a infinite portal loop. The co-op is another game in itself and really adds to the bulk of Portal 2 making it real value for money.

Graphics
I really like the visuals in this game simply because as anyone who's played it knows that Portal doesn't need amazing graphics to be good yet that said Valve have still gone out of their way to make it look very clean and crisp. Unlike the very clinical rooms of Portal, Portal 2 has massive set pieces to move as your playing, it could be a wall or a whole segment of the puzzle but at no point did I ever see it struggle to keep the framerate in check.

Controls
The original game was on the PC and controlled by mouse and keyboard, while I played Portal 2 on the Xbox (also available on PS3). The game controls pretty similarly and given the choice I think I like the console version better, each portal gets assigned a separate shoulder button and you use the much practised one joystick to move one joystick to look setup. So nothing that hard to get used to and any new player should be able to pick it up fairly quick.

I never really got into the first Portal stuck at the beginning

Is this basically the same idea as the first?

Yea basically obviously the story is different, but you still have to go around getting from A to B without dying. It's worth a play through, once you get past the level your stuck on I think you'll really enjoy it.

9/10 because single player was amazing an outstanding, while multiplayer lacked length hopefully there will be more multiplayer released soon to come.
