Synopsis
New York is under alien attack as the tropical jungles of the original game give way to the concrete jungle of the Big Apple. The critically acclaimed Crysis series makes its first appearance on consoles and shows exactly why PC gamers have lauded it for its graphics and innovative gameplay.
Wearing the new Nanosuit 2 only you have the abilities and knowledge to combat the alien threat, even as you're also being hunted by human agents. Depending on your needs you can instantly tell the suit to augment your speed, strength or aiming accuracy - or even make yourself invisible.
Combine your powers at the right moment and you have the flexibility to take down any threat in your own unique style. Whether you stalk enemies with stealth takedowns, boost your strength to flatten them with parked cars or use the versatile range of guns and weaponry you can play the game anyway you want.

Key Features
World Crisis: Crysis comes to consoles for the first time as New York becomes the latest battleground in an alien takeover of planet Earth.
Latest Fashion: The Nanosuit 2 gives you the flexibility to take on enemies however you want as it augments your strength and speed and even turns you invisible for short periods.
Tactical Choice: Pick your own strategies as you explore the large open world levels - will you attack quietly and unseen or go for an all out assault with guns blazing?
Photorealism: State-of-the-art graphics use the new CryEngine 3 technology to bring the most advanced visuals ever seen on consoles and the PC.
Worthy Opponent: Advanced artificial intelligence powers every enemy, with humans and aliens all having vastly different reactions and tactics to combat your presence.

Story
Not having played the first Crysis I picked this title up wondering how much of the required plotline I'd be missing and what impact this would have on my gaming experience. I soon discovered that it wasn't really an issue as history snippets covered off the main bases - I'm still in the dark as to the history/origins of the suit; not sure if this was something which was covered in the first game or if it's supposed to be a mystery - but newcomers to the Crysis world shouldn't have any worries in this regard.
Having been infected with the "Manhattan" virus our original hero 'Prophet' takes his own life after passing on the suit, and resulting burdens, to a new host who is left to pick up the pieces and carry on in his stead. Upon entry we find ourselves looking out of the eyes (and in charge of the arsenal) of Force Recon Marine 'Alcatraz' who must navigate through a broken, burned and recently evacuated depiction of New York City - remnants of a recent alien invasion. Because of this, and an apocalyptic body destroying virus, New York fell into civil anarchy and thus is been managed by a large military presence commanding under Martial Law. Alcatraz must fight enemies, both foreign and domestic (sorry, but I had to say it), to collect alien tissue samples (powering the suit up and unlocking new abilities) and survive long enough to win the allegiance of the military, find a cure for the virus, and ultimately repel the alien invasion. That covers pretty much everything right, wait...where's the chick??

Gameplay
Character abilities include a range of conventional weapons that can be picked up and utilised to defeat your enemies, as well as a number of Nanosuit perks - such as variations of stamina, stealth, armour and agility - which can be unlocked with enough alien tissue samples. You get to customise your character into your own killing machine with these perks - make him a blunt sword armoured to the hilt or a stealth ninja killing from the shadows. The mix of these elements makes for a highly fun and very addictive game, for which the story and graphics supplement effectively.

Graphics
I was blown away! Every once in a while a new game comes along that doesn't just marginally improve upon other titles out, but considerably raises the bar for the next line of games coming up - titles such as Half-Life, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gears of War in their day were good examples of such games. Crysis 2 definitely fits into this category; characters are detailed in both costume, to the point where you'll swear you could see the threads of their clothes, and their facial expressions which are some of the most lifelike I've seen at the time that this hit the shelves. Aspects like shading, metal and mortar effects on building and guns were extremely well done - the details on buildings and vehicles were also very impressive. In my opinion people will be making comparisons to Crysis 2 for a graphical benchmark in the months to come (at least until something new pushes that bar up again).

Controls
The control system is fairly intuitive and easy to pick up - something of a mix between COD and Bioshock by the way of a dual wielding (half shooter, half power-up) character, but the result is more in the line of Predator with a machine gun. Very cool!
Perk wise, once enough tissue samples are harvested you select from a menu which perk you want to buy - you have a number of high levels menus and can select one active perk from each menu. One thing I did notice was that you can't check the description of a perk before buying it, and as some of the perk names are not as descriptive as they could be you're left wondering what to buy at times.

I'm still undecided on whether or not this game would be a good investment.

Pretty good game.

To me in doesn't compare with Cod.

It's one of those games when you play when everything else is making you rage

But it has some of the best graphics I have ever seen.

And overall, it's pretty good.

8/10

I really love Crysis 2, but I think Crysis 1 (only released for PC) is much more better.
But the singleplayer of both games is better than all singleplayers of all Call of Duty's together.
The only thing I hate in the Crysis series is the multiplayer.

i would say that all of you on the fence should buy it, it is a great game and the singleplayer is worth it alone. You wont regret it.
