Are you sure their actual mechanics? Not thieves/scum?

The best way to do thinks nowadays it's yourself, any mechician will do whatever it takes to milk the money out of your pockect.

Mechanics fault, he could of easily have broken something while replacing or fixing the heating system as it is very complex and easy to mess up. His fault, he should have fixed for free along with you window.

My suggestion, find a whole new shop.

I assume you're old enough to make your own decisions. My parents went to the same mechanic for 30 years or so but I decided to find a different mechanic. Nothing was wrong with him, great guy and did excellent work and made sure everything was right in the customers favor, but he runs his own shop and is getting up there in age, so with no shop monkeys to help him he takes a while on repairs. I found another guy (through trial and error) that I swear by. He's the only guy that I allow to touch anything mechanical on any of my vehicles. My parents still go to the same guy they go to, but it's all personal preference. There is no shame in finding someone you like better to do work for you.
