Donald Trump's campaign slogan is "Make America Great Again"
That, by definition, means that he is saying that America is not great.

Colin Kaepernick suggested ways that America could be made better. So when he thinks that America can be made better he is being disrespectful. But when Donald Trump does it he's being incredible and president-worthy?

The hypocrisy is astounding.

He sat down for the national anthem to get media attention. He used his rights as a citizen of the US. Rights that people in the military have died for.
Even if the most decorated soldier in US history said that they did not think Colin should have been able to sit down that soldier would be more anti-American than Colin.

He wasn't disrespecting America any more than Donald Trump's campaign slogan disrespects America.

@OP: This isn't the first time it has happened and it certainly won't be the last.
I don't care too much about it, but the attacks against him have been incredibly stupid and hypocritical if they are coming from Trump supporters.
America is not great due to our shitty president Obama, and it will only get worse with Hillary. Colin I am 95% sure he supports Obama therefore, he is blind to the fact that Obama is the reason America "is not great".
I love how you blame the state of the country based off of one person who does not have that much power. Of course you believe the black lives matter movement is racist. Of course you love Trump and hate Obama. If you're blaming the problems of our country on one person and a movement group trying to improve the lives of their own community then you yourself are blind. An FYI for the 1 millionth time... Black lives matter is not a movement saying that only their lives matter. If you pay attention to politics and what everybody says and not just one man you would actually know that.

Standing for the NA or saluting the flag is disrespect in my eyes.
You are in a country where men and women fight for your freedom everyday.
You are here where others call home and haven't seen in years or will never see again due to dying at war.

Making a million dollars throwing a football for entertainment and disrespecting those who make less than a school teacher to fight for your freedom is hatred and your heart is corrupt.

Making a protest about black lives matter when you were adopted by two WHITE people is a disgrace to the parents who took you in and raised you.

This is my two cents

Here is some killer points for Kaepernick

Lost brain cells watching that. She says he's entitled to freedom of speech and them tells him to leave your country because she disagrees with him. It's funny how veterans are always brought up but as of August 2nd 2016 there is an estimated 40,000 homeless veterans in America. That's the problem with today's society & America in particular, you don't focus on what he was bringing up (which was valid points) but focus on the way he expressed it. He literally didn't stand up, get over it. The nationalism in America is flat out creepy. The majority of people who bring up the veteran point don't actually care about your veterans, do you think this idiot in the video has ever addressed the 40,000 that are homeless? No because she doesn't care but she'll use them to help fit her narrative as do most others who bring them up.

Your thoughts are your thoughts.

About this video, its the typical hypocrisy of "you dont stand, you leave" "you dont agree with me, leave the country" "Colins a baby yet im here butthurt because he didnt stand"

The thing I dont see any of the people who disagree with Colin doing is attempting to enlighten him on what he said. If you really disagreed with Colin and CARED about the truth of this country wouldn't you try to teach him a thing or two instead of barraiding him with insults and telling him to leave the country for simply not standing and going on to say some dumb shit? I dont think what Colin said is valid however I 100% am ok with him saying it. Its his freedom and who am I to impose on that?

I didn't watch the video but I wanted to throw a spin on what you said. You said that Colin Kaepernick is disrespecting military personnel who fight for our freedoms by not standing for the anthem. I completely disagree. Just like you said, they fought for our freedoms and he used his freedom to stand up (or rather not stand up) for something he does not believe in or believes is wrong. That is not a slap in the face to military personnel, but rather a thank you for letting me do and say what I believe in. Remember that in other countries he could've been beheaded for something like this.
