I dont watch sports I couldnt careless about them so I didnt know who this guy was but I sure do now. I know its been a few days maybe even a week by now since Colin refused to stand for the National Anthem and then he went on to say some dumb shit but I mean seriously... who cares?

This is why I dont idolize humans, I dont understand why the proud hardcore red white and blue bleeding Americans are being such crybabies over one person not standing for the Anthem and then going on to say some pretty ignorant shit. If you are such a proud American what does one person with a conflicting thought matter? If you are so sure that you are right about your belief in this nation then who cares what some football player thinks? These people that are upset about him not standing seem to be of the mindset that "if youre not like me, youre not American".

"Its disrespect to those who fought for our country" Well no not really, no where did I read that Colin said anything disrespecting those who serve this great country, no where have I read of him saying "**** America" or anything like that. Colin has stood for the Anthem in the past, he is only choosing to not stand now out of "protest" from what I understand.

Im with the crowd saying that he has a right not stand, this is the United States of America... I thought this was supposed to be a free country. One of the greatest things about living here is being able to speak out publicly in opposition of the very same country you live in! If he feels a change needs to be made THEN HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO! Soldiers have fought for us in the past so that we can be FREE, this is a FREE country (bear with me) and you should be able to sit down during the Anthem if you want to, no questions should have to be asked.

Its late, this is all over the place sorry. If people seem to reply I might touch it up to be a bit more clear in the morning.

Heres the Colin Kaepernick quote if you want to read that

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder"

TL;DR - dont let one persons beliefs/actions upset you, stop being a big crybaby

Yeah, I do not like how people like him disrespect America. If he has a problem with something he shouldn't disrespect America just, because he feels like it is a appropriate way of protesting.

I mean I agree with what he's doing. Sure, he could do it in a more respectful manner, but seriously, some of the shit in the US needs to stop (coming from a Canadian). Just because 1 person (and a few others) don't stand for the National Anthem because they believe their country is corrupt doesn't mean you should start bitching. In case people don't realize, we DON'T have the same opinion. If we did, the world would be f*cked beyond oblivion.

Yeah, well a lot of the problems are coming from the "Black Lives Matter Movement". The movement is dumb and it is actually racist. Why would you make a movement for just blacks? All Lives Matter, not just blacks, not just whites. I really do not see how ignorant people can really be when it comes to this shit. Yeah, it does need to stop. It is actually ridiculous, of how far it has gotten. We have a shitty president who encourages the bullshit. And Hillary will do the exact same thing with her corrupt ass. Everyone hates on Donald Trump, because he wants top build a wall. If anyone knew anything about America their is ALREADY and Fence along the border! So why is a wall such a big deal? People should not be able to come into our country and get government help when their are over 3.5 million homeless in America. Not only homeless, but poor families that struggle to even get government assistance.

Yeah but I don't believe that Kaepernick is protesting because of whole "Black Lives Matter" fiasco, I'm pretty sure he's speaking about everyone in general (correct me if I'm wrong). Even then, there is still nothing to really fix it. Not to mention when Trump or Clinton become President it will probably become 10x worse than it already is.

I disagree, and agree with you. If Hillary gets President it will be 10x worse. How ever I support Trump, and I absolutely dislike Obama. I think Trump will do a way better job than Obama and Hillary.

I believe there have been two other football players and a female soccer player that also have sat or kneeled since he has done it. I don't really care. He has the right to sit and he didn't hinder anyone else from participating. People have been saying that he is disrespecting veterans, but there have been veterans that feel he has the right to sit even if they disagree with it. There have also even been those that 100% support him for it. It is mixed just like civilian opinions. I'm fine with the criticism as well since it is the First Amendment. The thing that gets me is the "he should be deported" type comments. That type of talk isn't cool. That says that he should have no free speech. He isn't harming or harassing anyone. While you may disagree, he should have every right to do it. Forced nationalism isn't cool. Let's not go down that road, please.

Donald Trump's campaign slogan is "Make America Great Again"
That, by definition, means that he is saying that America is not great.

Colin Kaepernick suggested ways that America could be made better. So when he thinks that America can be made better he is being disrespectful. But when Donald Trump does it he's being incredible and president-worthy?

The hypocrisy is astounding.

He sat down for the national anthem to get media attention. He used his rights as a citizen of the US. Rights that people in the military have died for.
Even if the most decorated soldier in US history said that they did not think Colin should have been able to sit down that soldier would be more anti-American than Colin.

He wasn't disrespecting America any more than Donald Trump's campaign slogan disrespects America.

@OP: This isn't the first time it has happened and it certainly won't be the last.
I don't care too much about it, but the attacks against him have been incredibly stupid and hypocritical if they are coming from Trump supporters.

America is not great due to our shitty president Obama, and it will only get worse with Hillary. Colin I am 95% sure he supports Obama therefore, he is blind to the fact that Obama is the reason America "is not great".
