I'm thinking about getting a scuf... I read about them and see people are talking about how they started to get amazing after getting used to the scuf. I don't understand what the paddles are on the controller though. Thanks!

If you have Xbox one then get an Xbox Elite controller. Scuffs are quite expensive so I suggest doing quite a bit of research on them before purchasing one.

Do you game often?? In my personal opinion they don't make you a whole lot better at games unless you already have a high skill level at it. Don't listen to any mainstream youtubers who tell you scuffs are a must buy and make you play so much better as they are sponsored by them anyway. For playing better a good headset and monitor are much more important I think.

But still if you game a lot and you already have a lot of knowledge on your game (I'm guessing call of duty?) then yes the scuff paddles basically mean you never have to take your thumbs off of your analogue sticks and it means you can out manoeuvre/out-gun enemies easier since your buttons will be assigned to the paddles. But it kinda depends on your hand eye co ordination and not because you have a fancy controller with paddles. It just gives you a slight advantage.

If you play a lot then pick one up. If not, I really don't think it's worth it unless you just have the extra funds laying around. If you play first person shooters a lot it will help you out quite a bit.

Personally I would never buy one because of the price, the elite controllers are cheaper so I'd go with those instead. You still need to be good at a game.. which is the key thing for me.

If you were going to decide between a Scuf and an Elite Controller i'd go with the Scuf, they're basically the same price (depending on your customization options) and the Scuf has been said to be better. Not only by Pro's but also people I know. The Elite controllers seem to have very sensitive back paddles are seem (to me) way to complicated with all the customization for just a controller.

If you want to improve your game play but don't want to buy a Scuf or Elite controller. Simply practice against bots for a few days playing Claw. It's what I did at the end of Advanced Warfare (I know you're talking about Halo). I haven't been able to play the "Normal" way since. It's just a way of playing and you can easily change to it. I must admit it feels weird and you WILL play bad at first but once you practice and practice your aim will come back (since you're placing your right hand differently) and you will get used pressing the buttons with your fingers hovering over them.

Claw is one of the most useful ways of playing at a high standard along with Scufs but it's free!

Buy a Elite Controller, I only say this as Scuf accessories are going to be available for the Elite controller soon.
