I have a GTX 980 Ti and a Corsair VS 650 but I feel as if it doesn't have enough power and looking at the GTX 1070 it looks like I should get the 1070...

Which one needs more power though? Since you need more connectors to power the 980Ti and only 6 for the 1070 I was wondering 1070 would be a lot better for me?

Here I found a comparison chart of NVIDIA's most recent cards, including the 980ti and the 1070. I hope this answered what you were looking for. This was posted a couple of months ago so the prices may be off as well as some of the specifications, but I think it is all accurate enough.

If you already have a GTX 980Ti, it's not worth 'upgrading' to a GTX 1070. They perform almost exactly the same in most games.

That doesn't make any sense, and definitely isn't true. The GTX 1070 won't perform any better, regardless of whether it consumes less power or not. Also, the 980Ti pulls ahead of the 1070 mostly at higher resolution, so although the GTX 1070 is a better choice for a new card, it makes less than zero sense for you to 'upgrade'. I mean, it may make sense to upgrade to Vega, or big Pascal, but GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 make no sense for you.

I mean, it's not a great PSU but it's fine. It could son with an upgrade but isn't necessary. Regardless, going from a 980Ti to a 1070 wouldn't be a reasonable 'upgrade'. You'd be better off grabbing a 980Ti for $350-$400(their new price) and running 2 in SLI, rather than buying a GTX 1070 for like $450.
