So the other day I was playing black ops 3 and was playing with a couple friends. We joined an SnD match and a player on the other team was camping corners with a combat knife and was really bothering me and my friends. After the game ended ( which we still won by the way) i sent the player a pretty crude message. Now mind you the conversation went like this...
Me: (After first game) gg bro
Him: (No response)
Me: (After second game) You're a F****** F*****. I hope you die in real life.
Him: Wow.. GG to that? So much change in so little time.
Me: I'm just kidding idc lmao. My friend says that "shit" all the time. ( My friend always tells people he hopes they die in real life which is completely a joke.)
Now I sent the message as a joke and i didn't mean any of of it and this guy took it waaaay too hard..
He then told me to enjoy my day or week long ban...
This guy didn't care about the message he literally was butt hurt and just wanted me banned and ended up spam reporting me and got me a 14 day communications ban on xbox live which means no game or party chat until March 14th...
I mean I understand that what I said was offensive but when I'm joking around and told the player I was kidding and I get a 14 day ban for a first offense on an otherwise clean profile? It just doesn't make sense to me...
But there you have it. That's my story on my current 14 day communications ban.

I understand that what I said was pretty bad I just seem the length of suspension to be unfit. If you go back and look at the last 20 messages or so of mine you'd see that they've been nothing but congratulating players for a good game and I'm always a good sport whether I win or lose, I'm always a team player, I'm always on my best behavior (for a lack of better terms). I think they only looked at one aspect of what happened and don't realize it was a joke and that I am nothing like that. It could have been a whole lot worse,yet i still got the maximum suspension time.

Always trash talk in-game chat, never send text messages. Even if you are joking or not.
Personally I think it's a joke that sending a message with insults while playing a rated M game shouldn't even be looked at but at the same time, sending text messages over Xbox live doesn't keep track what game you are playing at the time and since support is trying to make it a "family" console, they don't take those things too kindly.

You wonder why you think to yourself why you get banned. Learn to not joke around like that because if you said that in the real working world people will knock the donut out of you. It's not nice dude!
