After quite some time, I've finally gotten to Town Hall 8 on my main account. I've been playing Clash of Clans since last Christmas / New Years, right around that time.
So, I've gotten to Town Hall 8 in about a year.
After being in several clans, looking for the right one, I finally found one with a nice group of guys and gals, who have actually taught me a lot.
Helped me get better with raiding, and getting those stars needed to win Clan Wars. I joined that clan when I was around TH6, and I was very, very rushed.
Now, I see how important it is to upgrade EVERYTHING before climbing to the next Town Hall.
My Town Hall 8 upgrade just finished today, on January 1st, so I am excited to see how far I can progress through the game in a year, on January 1st, 2017.

And, if anybody would like to join the clan I am apart of, I'll leave a screenshot below.
Any Town Hall level's are excepted, and you do not have to War if you do not want to. If you join, make sure you set your war preference to your choosing.
*If you are rushed you will not be put into Wars, until you can get caught up to your current Town Hall.

I've upgraded mine to TH8 a couple of minutes before reading this. I requested to join the clan (though I had overlooked to say that you sent me, but I'll try again with that message at a later date if needs be). Love your base mate, I just need to sort mine out ready for TH8

TH8 to 9 was a pain, now im still upgrading all my defences, troops, walls, spells, etc. Its gonna take a long while

You have a lot of upgrading to do. I'd work on defenses first and then the walls.
My base was rushed and I was a th9
It took me two years to fix it up and now I'm a th10 and I'm looking better than ever

I got a lot of iTunes for Christmas lol and I don't buy music. I wait for a jaklbreak to get it for free so I used it all on coc.
*I use all my gems for boosting my barracks and spell factory*
I've also been upgrading my heroes back to back. I have this awesome farming strategy with level 6 gobs. If someone can get me a link on how to record my screen without a jailbreak I'll post my replays.
I get 15k+ de an hour

I myself too rushed TH9.
It took me a solid year to clean my base up.
I still have a long way to go, want to max all my dark troops and get my heroes above 25+.
My Base:
Taylor: TH 8 is a lot of fun, make sure to max your King and don't get tempted by the queen, patience is key in this game (Unless you have lots of gems *ahippya* )

I max everything before upgrading. I just got TH8, so everything looks rushed. I've almost got all my walls caught up.
Im going to be upgrading everything up to TH7 max, then start doing everything. Simply working on the things I just got with TH8.

TH8 was the most annoying thing ever, but now I regret saying that because th9 is the worst townhall for sure, you have to do 2 wall levels to max out your walls the first costs 1 mill the 2nd costs 3 mill then you have a queen that max out at lvl 30 and a king that max out at lvl 30 its just so annoying really, currently my hereos are 13/14 and I have 180 give or take a few lvl 9 walls.

Is TH8 really that bad?
The only new thing you get is an extra; Archer Tower, Wizard Tower, Gold + Elixir Storage, Dark Spell Factory and 50 Walls.
Then there's maxing everything, but it can't take longer than TH7, not counting walls which are 500k a piece, and research.

The reason I say it was so bad is because I went out of my way to max every single wall in TH8 which took so long, by the time I went to th9 my gold grab was atleast 250 mill. Took me atleast 4 months to farm all that up(btw gold is the best place to farm for gold and elixer. For Dark elixer make your way up to champions.
