Just to let you guys know, I was in the arndale centre today that got evacuated after the suspicious device found that exploded in the gents toilets, I was literally the closest person to the "bomb" .

I was waiting outside of the toilets, while my mother was in Macdonalds...While I was sat down on my phone (TTG Obvs) When the police told me I had to get out of there, as there is a threat, and then they rushed everyone out of the shopping centre.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue said it has a fire engine and a support unit on standby.

Police were called at around 9.10am today to a report that a device had been found within a bin. The shopping centre management decided to evacuate the centre as a precaution.

A bomb disposal squad were seen entering the building. Police confirmed it has been placed in a bin and it was reported that it ignited in a men's toilet.

It was reported that the device caused a small fire that was put out with an extinguisher. It was then recovered by bomb disposal experts.

A Lancashire Constabulary spokesman said there was no explosion, but a "crude, improvised device" was "ignited".

A Twitter user asked Lancashire Constabulary if the device 'detonated', and the official account tweeted back "To be clear it seems to have ignited in some way but it was only small and there has been NO explosion of any kind."

All in all, it ruined my Christmas shopping and I think these terrorists need to go and practice on some BO1 Combat training, demolition.

Demolition wasn't in Combat Training on BO1. =P

But, yeah. I seriously agree. Terrorists need to blow themselves up already so we don't have to worry about them anymore.

From what I heard, It got exaggerated on Facebook and wasn't as powerful as a bomb.

The damage was apparently just enough to cause some pain to whoever opened the bag.

But that's just what I heard..

Glad you're alright man.

Glad to see that you are ok, I understand how nerve racking it can be being so close to a 'suspect package'.
I have had one close encounter in the past.
