Is it possible to purchase the giant alone without buying a special edition or season pass ?

Probably in future. I imagine they'll do what they did with Zombie Nuketown.
But for now, no.. unfortunately not.

nope not even with the new dlc thats in jan der riese is already in the game you need the season pass or else you cant play it
