I'm extremely new to all this!!!!!!
I'll be honest I've been a console player all my life and now I'm trying to convert over to PC. Now I already know how frowned upon Macs are but my pro is the only computer I have access to and right now I am very curious if I can even play games like fallout 4, cods, gta, etc. I know most won't work with the mac OS so I am planning on using bootcamp and getting windows 7 but will my computer be able to handle the games? My macbook pro features:
Mid- 2012
2.5 GHz Intel core i5
4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (I am planning on upgrading to 16GB)
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

Any help/advice would be fantastic!
Thanks,
Chase

Dont expect to play games that have came out recently. Expect 720p, 2012 and below games with 30 or less fps.

Is that because of the processor or another reason?

Eh, Simply because its a macbook. You have integrated graphics of course and a low end i5 in the mac. Its not built for gaming so it will not perform well. Macbook's (Pro and reg) and mostly for productivity in my eyes.

I would expect around <15 fps on fallout 4 (low, 1280x720), and with experience with the latest COD's, around 20 fps (low, 1280x720). Games these days pretty much need dedicated GPU's to run at an acceptable framerate. You won't be running many newer games on HD 4000 graphics, sorry.

Alright thank you Dovashin and Stedos for the quick responses! I guess I'm going to have to get a newer computer.

Are there any laptops you would recommend or should I get a desktop as I am in college right now so I don't have as much space for a desktop.

Well for the sake of gaming you'd be better of with a desktop. You'll get more for your money.

We all know where apples belong to...
Get rid of the Mac.
With $500 you can build a system that will be 100 times better than mac, fully compatible with every game.
