Very weird.. Maybe you are just a lucky guy. I'd assume they will recognize you on the servers and finish the complete ban. I'd make a new account and get started progressing on it if I were you.

I have done that as I expect the ban to appear again eventually , only tried to sign in today to check it haha not going to complain

This happened to me about 1-2 weeks ago. I received an email regarding my suspension on Xbox Live, yet I was still able to play with no problems.
I'm thinking it's probably a "fake" email of some sort but I'm not sure.
