What are your guys' thoughts on daycare? Do you think a parent should convert over to a "stay at home" situation to take care of the child during the day, or are you all for daycare centers to take care of your child. Would you put your kid in daycare? Why or why not?

Last night at dinner, I was discussing with my eldest brother about a KinderCare Center close to my home while he was over. His wife was going to take their baby there once he was a toddler but my brother absolutely opposed it, saying that the caretaker there would be taking too much of care of the child instead of them. He then ranted on and on, obviously opposing it.

My opinion:
You should have one of the adults stay home with the child during the day instead of taking them to daycare. However, if you are not in a good enough financial situation then you should put them in daycare. I am still on the fence with my thoughts and can be persuaded easily so that's why i want to hear your thoughts

So, what are your guys' thoughts? Please no flaming!

I say if you trust your local daycare service with your child, then go ahead. I was in daycare when I was little and we had an awesome daycare people. But with that being said there are sketchy places. I think it's all in if you trust your daycare.

I personally would rather pay a relative to look after my children

Personally, I am a firm believer in the stay at home Mom situation. It's a old way in going about it but I think that's the best fit for raising a child right. The only way that I say is if the parents cannot make the ends meet financially then I would say go about going to the day care situation.

All in all my opinion is the stay at home way. Besides it allows for the Mother to do more than just that around the house.

As other people have said if you know the plece well and you know its safe/Legit then sure go for it but you never know who could just go in.

Sure its a safe place just give it a chance.

I think it really depends on if the people at the day care can be trusted. In general though, I really don't care. As long as the children are getting care, does it really matter who is doing it? If the mom or dad want to stay home to take care of the kid, that is great. If not, someone else taking care of it while they are out is great too. Whichever they choose, I think parents do need to find time at some point to spend with the kids. I plan to never have kids, so I can't say what I would do.
