Ordering my new setup & ive just noticed the 4GB vartiants of the 960&380 are like an extra £30.

Would it be stupid to go for one of the 2GB variants?
[playing at 1080p]

or a 280X with 3GB?

Thanks

You don't need 8GB of VRAM for 1080p.

I know but you want to be able to trust that you'll do good so you'd want 8gb

Vram an ram are very different. Vram is what the graphics card uses.

It depend on the games you'll be playing. Some games will eat well over 2gb of vram like GTA5 but games like cs-go won't use anything near that.

Get what you can afford IMO.

If you already have a 280, a 280x wouldn't be a logical upgrade. A GTX 960 would offer little to no performance difference. In fact, your 280 will probably out-perform the 960 in some cases. 380 is pretty much 280x performance, but more efficient with 2GB and 4GB variants, so again, not worth swapping your 280 for a 380.
