Here in South Africa we have what's known as the "Tokoloshe"

''In Zulu mythology, Tikoloshe, Tokoloshe or Hili is a dwarf-like water sprite. It is considered a mischievous and evil spirit that can become invisible by drinking water. Tokoloshes are called upon by malevolent people to cause trouble for others''.

I personally think its a load of rubbish

Do you have any Local Legends or conspiracies in your area?

Here in southern California there really isn't anything like that. Maybe just the Cupacabra since it's about 80% Hispanics here, but than again, everyone is always too high here to go out to see something.

Here in Tennessee, USA there is supposedly a wild big cat known as the Wampus Cat.

It's a big cat that resembles a cheetah and jaguar with 6 limbs; 4 for movement, 2 for fighting. It's said to have golden fur with red streaks. Here is a little story:

We have some really creepy Ghost Tows on the Western side of the state, they have stories that I think are fake but the towns are real.
