Yes, hello

I own a 980 classified from a while ago, and now I want a 980 ti. My question is, is it worth keeping the 980 installed in the slave pcie lane as a dedicated physx card/see if DX12 lets me SLI with my TI (I'm not holding my breath) P.S I know not many games use physx and it generates heat/uses power blah blah blah

I'll be using DSR on a handful of games, so if it helps I'll be using it.

Why am I getting a TI when I have a 980? Because I'll be getting two of them when budget permits. I'll probably end up selling the 980 down the line.

I have an EVGA Supernova G2 850W and everything else is more than adequate, for reference

I also want a gsync panel, a 1080p one. I don't want IPS or above 1080p because you can't miss what you've never had

What's the best 1080p gsync panel from either scan or overclockers?

Considering the price range between them, I don't really care if the most expensive ends up being the best. I'll gladly pay the premium.

What's the point of getting a 980ti if you refuse to go over 1080p? Seems like a complete and utter waste. Your 980 is even somewhat overkill for 1080p.

Because I want to be waaaay above the 60 fps minimum I insist upon. 144hz monitor for a reason, boy-o

Oh, and I max out my games. If I can't do that, I upgrade.

SLI is due an improvement irregardless if that manifests itself in the form of Pascal or DX12, it's imminent.

I dont have alot of knowlegde about the physx so ill let someone else comment on that.

Why dont you want to go for a gsync 144hz 1440p monitor if you plan to get a sli 980ti? It does seem like a bit of a waste. You wont see any difference between 300fps and 150fps on a 144hz monitor.

The only G-SYNC monitors I know of that are 1080p are crappy low-end TN panels. If you went for something [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] you'd have a much better experience overall.

Or you could go for [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] which is still a TN panel, but I've heard it's one of the better TN panels and it's slightly cheaper than the Acer one.

Well, for one I have no real interest in experiencing the world beyond 1080p.

FPS would be lowered too. To varying degrees, I acknowledge. I'd rather pull 80 fps on a super demanding game in 1080p than 65-70 in 1440 for example.

TN panels may be inferior to IPS, but with tweaking and DSR, the only drawback is the viewing angles. That doesn't affect me whatsoever

I explicitly requested a 1080p one for a reason, please keep the suggestions within the aforementioned guidelines.

Whether you "explicitly requested" or not, I tried to help you. I'm not getting paid for this, so I don't know who you think you are. Hopefully someone else can help you.

Keep your 'help' pertinent then. If I wanted to establish who's financial perception was most refined, I'd have created a poll asking for whether it's worth it. Seeing as how I did not, your protervity is wholly unwarranted.

Here are some benchmarks, Pay attention only to the blue lines which is the 980ti, the other line is is the 780ti if your curious. It shows how a single 980ti performs at 1080p and at 1440p with max settings. As you can see a single 980ti gives you exactly what you want at 1080p and performs very well at 1440p. If you went sli it would easily put you into the 100+ fps range.

1080p is getting old and boring, experience something new, A crisper image.

Dont you think its a waste spending $1000 on gpus to game at 1080p?

Since getting my 1440p display you notice how crap 1080p is compared in terms of image sharpness, desktop space and the wonderful colour accuracy if you choose to get a Decent IPS Display.

but hey feel free to stick with ugly old 1080p.
