I used to have a 7970 which is like the 280X's older brother.

It's a pretty good card but you could get better for your money atm.

No, you couldn't. For the same price of a 280x, your only other option is a GTX 960 really. Unless you buy used. The 280x is a perfectly good card. It will max everything on a single 1080p panel ezpz.

I would say no, i was gonna get that same card, until i watched reviews. The 280x, and 290x both have horrible reviews. The EVGA 730, and 730TI perform no better, or hardly at all better then the EVGA Ge Force 670 (What i have) plus there louder then the 670. Just go 670 man.

I have a Sapphire 280x and its rare to find a game that struggles (unless its a ubi title)
Id say go for it. I've had minimal issues with it.
Also, it runs GTA very well. Most settings on very high, runs at a solid 60, sometimes dipping in the desert but I suppose you would expect that.

This is the one I have:

290x has bad reviews? lol, k. Maybe from NVidia fan boys. What in gods name is a "730TI"? The GTX 670 does not out-perform the 280x actually. 280x out-performts the 670, and it's much newer.
