Really winds me up when people only reply to your topic when +Rep is involved.
Nothing against the people in the FIFA forum, but I've noticed whenever I put a post where it is just a general question to do with something FIFA related without the mention of Rep, you barely get any replies, if any.
Where as if I am to mention '+Rep' either in the subject or post I've noticed I get so many more replies.
In no way at all am I making myself out to be perfect, but if there is a post where I do know the answer and can help, I will answer to that post, no matter if +Rep is included or not.
Rant over haha!

Its just rep+, its free, its not like your giving them money or anything.

It's how people are. If I see a topic I help out regardless if rep is involved or not, it's all about helping the community, becoming one. I totally agree with you, it's the same way with Gold. When I was Gold I got various replies on topics and when I make one these days I hardly get any replies.

Rep is offered as a reward because its an incentive to answer the question.
Rep is, however, a meaningless number. Those who care about rep other than answering a member's question, are looked down upon. Staff will always feel free to answer any question you may have.

now back to the topic at hand, rep is just a motivational reward so people will be more interested or in this case more willing to help. cmon admit it, someone asks you to do something for free when your tired and you sigh it out and never bother, but then they say il give you a fiver and you do it instantly. obviously rep isn't money but the concept is the same.

I figure every community is the same in this regard, everyone wants that extra reputation to look cool, even though it means absolutely nothing.
