This is a hard choice. I know some people who drive GTR that go to the car show I go to every month. They say it does get boring if you drive it fast constantly, obviously people are going to take pictures, and are going to want to race you on the highway. GTR is AWD.

Corvette is going to be slick and will be something newer and will attract more people's attention.

R8's are okay, just not really outstanding to me anymore. Yes they do look nice, but you have to have the right paint on it. The person that went this car meet I went to, she was driving it in the rain, the wheels locked up and she ran into a tree and totaled it. She just got another one that stands out way better.

Think about your community, are people mean? Will they possibly key your car or try to break into it. Think about the weather too.

I would go with the C7, but I would also save up and go for a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Get the Audi. It's what ironman drives and since you're a wizard, that pretty much makes you ironman.

Why not? I just want opinions, I'm torn between these.
Not many people on here actually know anything about cars haha. I'd go to a site that's full of car lovers instead of TTG.

You know everyone who posts regularly in the section? I know a lot of people on here who know a good amount or alot more about cars than the average person.

Really? Cause i went through and 95% don't know a clue. Some guy was wondering if he should get a v6 mustang and everyone was telling him to. I may as well buy a z/28 and have one of the cylinders misfire. Everyone here either has millions of dollars to own expensive imports, or knows nothing mechanically about a car. I'd go to a dealership / mechanic before ever asking on a forum lol.

@OT. Don't go with the Stingray or the GTR because those are far too common for 'tuner-exotics'. R8 is fine, i would recommend the new Ford GT if you do indeed have this type of money, but as it is the first year of this model, it will have issues as well as a wait list due to the number of people who already have reserved the masterpiece.

You say you've been through 95% but you obviously haven't. So what if people think he should get a v6 mustang, maybe his options were limited and that was the best option, and maybe someone told him to get it because they like the car themselves.

I don't personally know anyone on the forum who has millions of dollars, most of these threads about expensive imports are just simple questions looking to get peoples responses and reasoning on what car they would choose.

Have fun overpaying on cars all your life by trusting everything the dealership say.

Pretty contradictory how you claim to be able to tell the difference between car guys and non car guys yet you mention for OP to buy a car that isn't even available for pre order, hell, doesn't even have a solid price from Ford. Plus that car is still a year away. Pretty big miss from the all knowing car guy you are.

OP, people have said the GTR is a great acceleration car and a car for looks, but it's boring due to its lack of power. Stock that is. Upgraded might be better, I'd say test drive it. Audi R8 has a rare factor because not a lot of people buy them, but it's the overall slowest of the 3 you posted. I personally would pass on the R8, as crazy as that sounds. The C7 Z06 would be great with the Z07 package, you can tell the difference on the car in person. Plus it's probably the most track capable car.

So for speed- C7 or GTR
For looks and rarity- R8

Your choice.

Zef wrote Well a few questions:
-Will this be your EDD?
-What part of the world do you live in? (snow/weather/ect)
-What do you plan on using this car for, objectively?

It will be my every day driver which is why I like the C7, 28mpg Highway. but then again, everywhere I go is 5-10minutes from my house so MPG isn't a huge issue.

Texas, little snow, hot summers.

EDD, weekend track car.

Yeah I love how people say we know nothing about cars. It's like you guys think because we are on a modding/tech website that we know nothing about cars. SMDH.
I know nobody is going to read the paragraphs below, but whatever. Not EVERYONE on TTG knows nothing about cars. Remember that.

Honestly, if you have the money to buy one of these cars, which I am assuming you do because you made this thread (if not, and your looking for attention...then it's whatever you want to think will make you famous). Anyway, a true buyer in the market for one of these cars would looks at all aspects for purchasing on of these. Will it be a daily driver? Do you prefer handling to speed?

The GT-R isn't the best on handling, if has a good amount on under steer. All of these cars have different packages, from the cheapest stingray being in the $50k range, and one of the top of the line models costing $90k+. So really you have to look at what kind of climate your living in, snowy area which the GT-R would be good for because of the AWD. The stingray is just another corvette. The C6 is better than the C7 in my opinion.

Now for the R8, you have a V8 and a V10 model. It really is up to the buyer on what model to get. One has a higher power band than the other obviously and the R8 handles like a dream from what i've seen. So honestly, it is up to you because these are all different types of cars and each are capable of something the other is not. Someone on TTG is not going to alter your decision. Honestly I just think this post is for attention but oh well.

If I had the money I would go for the R8, but to be honest the insurance alone per month is 3 times what I pay for my house! Then I there would be fuel costs, servicing etc etc lol. Whats the insurance like in the US? Over here in the UK you would never get insured on any of those cars at your age (assuming you are 19 like your profile says).

Here is a quote I just got for an R8 and those are the monthly payments...

I called around and got some quotes, all of them around $500/month which is considered very high in the US but I'll be able to cover it.

As for everyone else I've taken in your consideration, I'm leaning towards the Audi but I'm going to test drive the GTR and Audi first. Thanks everyone, mods feel free to close the thread.
