Thanks for getting back to me,

i would get windows the free ways but i don't know which file to download -- don't want a virus haha.
also i believe it would use a lot of my internet data.

is Linux easy to download onto a usb so it works on my other laptop?

Thanks

There are thousands of free linux distributions, like Debian, Linux Mint, Ubuntu e.g. So do some research on them, Linux is the way forward.

Linux is the only free legitimate OS you can download. There are many distro's to choose from, I'd talk to r00t if you want to find out which one to use.

Windows 10 Tech Preview is free if you're a member of the Windows Insider Program.

Linux Mint is a good distro for users who aren't familiar with Linux
